Danny Rose

Agree completely. We have a responsibility to make sure he is looked after.
We've paid him 7 quintillion pounds, to ensure he can access whatever help he needs. There is no assistance on earth too expensive for him to access.

Whether it is drink, drugs, mental, motivation, family, whatever, we have given him everything he needs to FIND the personal help he needs.

How many people with mental health issues deny it (or don't realise they have an issue) and let it destroy their lives?
Not everything in life is just a matter of how much money you have.

Not sure why we are still keeping Rose. We should have sold him or let him go free long time ago. There is no point keeping him since he has no future at Spurs.

Precisely my point, we've given him everything HE needs to FIND the help HE needs. We cannot live his life for him and drive him to the clinic, he needs to reach out.

Totally opposite to your point. You've stated that we've given him a brick load of money and after that, it's up to him.
If you think that it's just down to the individual to get whatever help they need then you are sorely lacking in any sort of understanding of mental health issues.

More and more large companies offer help around mental health issues that is outside normal salary etc and I would hope that we offer similar support.

Not really.

He’s earned enough money to pay for any hypothetical care he needs.

If he doesn’t know he needs it, or doesn’t know where to find it then he should absolutely be helped with that aspect of it.

We wouldnt be keeping him if there was a club which wanted him, could pay his wages and where he also was happy going

Genius point. Can you email the club with this stunning insight? I’m sure nobody there has thought about this razor sharp strategy.

I don’t know where to begin with this.

So I won’t.

Liverpool employ a club psychologist full time to keep the players focused and keep their mentalities strong.

Why we don't is beyond me - we have a bunch of physios that loll around, judging by AoN, but a professional psychologist would work wonders, both for guys like Rose and for the club's overall mentality problems more broadly.

They also have a a specialist throw in coach and another concocting sports drinks for matches.

Thanks for your insight as I honestly thought that we did have someone doing that sort of thing

Danny needs help and I hope that he gets it soon

I would hate to turn on the news to find out that he has harmed himself in any way

I think that Mourinho is a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to this kind of thing. I agree that the club should have sports psychologists on the payroll.

The couple of podcasts that Windy did on this are worth a listen.

With Rose, it seems pretty clear that he has sought help privately and the club may use people on a freelance basis who may also have worked with him.

It shouldn't really be a coach appointed role. That decision should come from the top, either the football director, head of sports science or the chairman.

That's a fair comment but their job would be difficult if Mourinho wouldn't work with them.
