Would relegation be that bad?

As much as there might be (would be) match-going positives about it, we simply can’t afford to drop down. Plus it’s in no way guaranteed we’d come straight back up as we did before.

This. Absolutley no given to come back up. Would be an absolute disaster if we go down

Last time it happened we only just scraped promotion back to Division One

- Cheaper and more plentiful tickets
- Less subscriptions to pay to legitimately watch games on tv
- Drop in value of club would stir interest of potential buyers, so more chance that Connie and Fredo will bugger off
- Chance for a deep structural clean and refresh - it seemed to do Villa good long term
- New brochure of exotic away trips

I could get on board with this i think

Any more upsides?
Connie and Fredo 😁

It's a tough one.
There is a good argument it was a well needed reset for Villa, Saudi Sportswashing Machine and, to a lesser degree West Ham. Perhaps Leeds in there too?

Obviously best to, ya know, not be that brick

Villa would have been fudged if they hadn’t got promoted at the second attempt. No guarantee we would come back up. Every team would come to our shiny ground and want to beat us.

Levy would come in and buy back the club at half price
I always thought Levy wouldn't be appreciated until he was gone, but didn't expect it to unravel this quick.

Makes you wonder if we were overachieving all these years, second in the PL, CL final. Maybe it's a bit like Charlton and Curbishley, thinking we'd be better off without him.
