What about Lennon?

4 games missed:

Bolton (away) = 2-4 loss
Sunderland (home) = 1-1 Draw
Blackburn (home) = 4-2 win
Stoke (home) = 3-2 win

yeh it's Ade....now please lets just move on from this dreadful state of affairs and learn to love one another.

We can make stats mean anything, what is important is the effect that Modric has on our game, we are a far better side with him in it and so would any other side.
One of the reasons teams like Chekski, Utd, City are supposed to want him is that they can see what a top players he is.

The 4 League games we played without him this season we've lost 3 and drew 1.
They were City home and away, United away and Stoke at home though.

i think his long legs would have reached that Bale cross late in the game against City away and we would have won 3-2 instead of losing 3-2

oh what could have been

he stands out for us in the same way Berba stood out in our team. Im sure if he went to a bigger club, challenging for the big trophies year in year out, their fans wouldnt be as enthusiastic as we are.

He doesnt score enough, doesnt assist enough, these are the criticisms that would be highlighted even more at clubs under a bigger spotlight, just like Berba's workrate and inconsistency.

we are simply over enthusiastic and easily pleased, mainly because over the last 15-20 years weve had to put up with the likes of Dozzell, Neilson, Sherwood, Zokora etc in our centre midfield.

Why do you think modric should create and score more? What position do you think he plays and what other players would you compare him to?

Disagree, as i have said Chelsea, Utd and City have all been linked with him, if they thought there was better they would go for them;

Can we all just say Ledley King and agree, because he's Spurs through and through and we all dearly love him :)

Don't know were the stats for this one are taken from, but it seems that if Bale, Ade et al had been more clinical finishers Modrics assist-stat would improve a lot; and take into account how many times he assist the assist, the not-creating enough is blindness talking...

I agree. Lets look at another scenario. Chelski have won the CL. We need three points to claim 3rd or we miss out on CL. We are 0-1 down to Fulham at half time. Bale and Modric are subs. Who would you bring on?

There can only surely be one answer. Our undoubted matchwinner.

If that is ever a scenario, the manager would need his arse kicked down the Seven Sisters...and I'd bring them both on. Question for you (seeing as you weren't being sarcastic)...who did you play for that won the FA Cup?

Welbeck
Nani-Rooney-Valencia

and Modric behind them...He would be having 15 assists per season easily, but lets hope it never comes to this

Great proof for those who doubt his importance...

If it's all the same, I hope we never have the opportunity to say 'I told you so'...I remember people saying how easy it would be to replac Carrick...

if we sold Modric for 40 mill and bought Joe Allen for 10-15 mill we really wouldnt notice much of a difference. Both can play the deep play making role if thats the role most consider to be Modric's best position.

Ok. I think Modric is better than Joe Allen. And would be a big loss. Why don't Chelsea Man U et al just buy Allen and save themselves 25 million (although I think it'd take more than that to get Modric)?

Exactly, rumour has it the City and Utd are both chasing Modric, if there was better they would not bother.
