VW Scirocco - any good?

I have the 2 litre TFSI petrol, bought it a year ago at one year old. Took it to Austria for holiday this summer. 800 miles in one hit with wife and family and luggage.

It'll be alright for your commute. Lovely little car, if stupidly priced new (2.0TFSI with DSG, leather, nav sunroof, 19" alloys would have been £33k new).

Other one to look at would be the Megane Coupe.

Absolutely outrageous price! When I consider the sticker price for my 320d Touring with basically every option under the sun was £5k more..... there's just no comparison.

Clearly there is far better value to be had elsewhere.

You sure that price is right? I was spec'ing one up the other day and did the 2.0TDI GT, which has leather and Nav as standard, added the DSG box and it came in at £27k. Compare that to the £38k for 320d Touring and I agree there's no comparison.

I did it on VW's site - build your own car, thing.

To be fair, BMW are one of the worst for extras

Try building a mini online. You'll end up doubling the price of the car once you're done!

All the German manufacturers are. When I bought my S2000 the options were "What colour outside? What colour inside?". With my BMW, the array was bewildering. So I asked for one of everything!
