Victimpool FC - Klopp leaving, grown men crying

Anyone seen the latest comedy gold from Liverpool?

They have put a message on their OS stating that they have enquired about signing Dempsey

Rodgers reveals Dempsey enquiry

Brendan Rodgers today revealed that Liverpool have made enquiries about Fulham striker Clint Dempsey.

In an interview with Liverpoolfc.com at the team hotel in Boston, the manager moved to clarify the club's position on the USA international, who scored 23 goals for Fulham last season.

"Clint is a player we've enquired about, it is as simple as that," said Rodgers.

"Ian Ayre, our managing director, has spoken with the club to see what the position is. That is where we're at.

"He's a very talented player but we don't like to talk about other clubs' players."

Dont like talking about other clubs players, eyh Rodgers :p

The PR-people at that club are among the worst. As a Liverpool manager he will have to talk more to the media, everything he says will be scrutinised and they continue to make these poorly judged comments. The scousers will lap it up of course.

I couldn't help but have a little chuckle

The website for Massachusetts-based news channel New England Sports Network (NESN), owned by Anfield proprietors Fenway Sports Group, published a story claiming Dempsey was a Liverpool player when he was still very much on Fulham's books.
With a headline which read "Fabio Borini, Liverpool gear up for North American Tour as Clint Dempsey joins club" and a line which claimed that the Reds had "added Fabio Borini and Clint Dempsey to a team that game [sic] within a game of winning the FA Cup", the story prompted excitement among fans of the Merseyside club as they anticipated another summer signing for new manager Brendan Rodgers. The story was a short introduction to a video report on Liverpool training ahead of their pre-season friendly against Roma at Boston's Fenway Park, in which mention was also given to reports linking Dempsey with a move to the club.

In a word...amateur

You are right about the PR people. When you think about what Dalglish has done as a player and manager for Liverpool, its disgraceful how he was left hanging by the senior management. They were all hiding during the Suarez affair and a good guy and club legend was sacrificed. And recent news suggests Luis Suarez has repaid the debt as only he can.

Some of KKK's post match interviews were cringeworthy to say the least. I thought the press officer were supposed to brief him on things beforehand, ie. the handshake incident.

They sacked their PR person (people) and brought in new ones after the Suarez stuff.

But nothing has changed. Suarez still gobbing off and their manager saying things he shouldn't be saying. They even put it on their own website.

A strong Saudi Sportswashing Machine is a great thing for us. One more team to take points of the big clubs. If we can get 1 point up there in the first match, I'll be very happy.

We are as much a 'selling club' as Spurs and Manchester United.

We only sell first team players for either mega money (see Carroll, Andy £35M) or when they are being tacos at letting their contract run down.

No different to your sales of the likes of Berbatov and the impending sale of Modric.

. Yes you're right there hopefully we won't have a fat selfish ponce sell the ground name to a fried chicken joint or trainer stall like those poor norverners

Interesting that you should mention that. I did read a report earlier today (can't remember where) which suggested that Spurs might well be working on a short term deal to sell the naming rights for the current stadium, until such time as the new one is ready.

Do you remember the statement the club made the night that Suarez was banned 8 games? Didn't exactly mince their words. They said they didn't agree with the decision and they would like to know when Evra is going to be charged! That to is an indictment of the whole club and shows how pig headed and arrogant everybody from the players to the hierarchy acted. The only people who didn't endorse this behaviour were the owners. The Americans know the importance of PR! It was obvious to me that they were the ones who forced Dalglish to apologise for his behaviour, but it had already gotten out of hand by then and the damage was irreparable.

What can you do when the manager insists on acting like a complete and utter prick during interviews!

The statement where they accepted the verdict and said they would move on. Lasted about one day before KKK started moaning about it.

They also slated Evra in the statement.

I would have thought the owners would have briefed Suarez and warned him to keep quiet about it now.
