Transfer thread

I assumed it was Munn's role with Levy being involved when necessary or when appropriate.
Although we did hear last year that Lange was involved with the initial attempts to bring Tel in on loan, so it seems like he was leading discussions to some extent - not sure whether that was negotiating the actual deals or just preparing the groundwork.
It does feel like there's a bit of a void in that respect at the moment, unless as you say Paratici is back full time.

Edit : Should add that I don't know what his role/remit was when he was at Villa. Maybe he was negotiating their deals.
Did Levy touch on this in his interview? The club make approaches via official channel and processes and then he steps in when it gets down to the nitty gritty, thats how it appeared to me from what he was saying.

All the internal stuff is and has been decisions by committee and has been fot a long time.

They have a strong team of number crunches too who run the data who feed into the process too.

I think he said there is a technical team who identify a player and then he goes out to do the best he can to get the player.

Since Kudus it has been a fall off a cliff.

We finished 17th last season, we're in the Champions League this and, above all else, we need to build on the success of winning the Euorpa League.

If this window ends like most, we are not finishing top 4, let alone winning the league......

Based on very little / absolutely nothing - the murmurings about him not being able to close Tel in Jan - I get the sense Lange is great at identifying talent, but limited when it comes to physically getting players in / out the door. He just doesn’t seem to have the personality to close deals.

As I say, that could be very unfair, but may explain some of our struggles this summer.
Weren't we saying previously he was great as we'd land players out of nowhere...with zero leaks from the club?.

Each transfer takes a different path because of multiple reasons....reasons we don't know, so probably not worth talking about or making judgements on.

With the caveat...that if you have the spare time, go for it.

This

Every deal is different, people build up in their head How easy it is.....in reality there are so many moving parts and agendas

in a recent interview (g neville) , levy said he doesn't choose the players but a committee does. he goes on to say that after the decision is made he ensures what's best for the club is done without going into details. yeah i am biased and i believe levy still does the negotiations.

anyone's guess really
