Saw something earlier that said Paratici is now trying to sell players because we are getting annoyed with Lange struggling to shift any of them

Based on very little / absolutely nothing - the murmurings about him not being able to close Tel in Jan - I get the sense Lange is great at identifying talent, but limited when it comes to physically getting players in / out the door. He just doesn’t seem to have the personality to close deals.

As I say, that could be very unfair, but may explain some of our struggles this summer.

I find it a bit strange as I never really thought Lange’s role was negotiating players in and out, rather it was in the analysis and identification of players suitable for the club/manager/system (and then heading up all the ongoing internal analytics, player stats etc). Likely I had that wrong I guess but ‘Technical Director’ sounds like more of an internal role to me.

I think that's always been known though - he's a head scout, not a DoF. That why we've always had Paratici working in tandem with him, hopefully soon officially again.

So who does the negotiating / brokering deals then? It’s not a dig, I’m just wondering and your point is a fair one. Has it still been Levy since Paratici has been laid low?

It may have not be Lange. It could’ve been Munn, I guess, and we’re now in a void until Paratici (formally) returns.

I assumed it was Munn's role with Levy being involved when necessary or when appropriate.
Although we did hear last year that Lange was involved with the initial attempts to bring Tel in on loan, so it seems like he was leading discussions to some extent - not sure whether that was negotiating the actual deals or just preparing the groundwork.
It does feel like there's a bit of a void in that respect at the moment, unless as you say Paratici is back full time.

Edit : Should add that I don't know what his role/remit was when he was at Villa. Maybe he was negotiating their deals.
