Transfer thread

In theory what we have read about Frank, his team, and his approach to team building & tactics should be beneficial to young players development.

While having a specific set way of playing is not without it's benefits I'd imagine that players who don't have the attributes to play to those particular demands could fall by the wayside and I'd have concerns over how well their all round game would have developed if everything was geared up to meet those requirements. I'm much more confident over our young players development now.
I agree that a more flexible approach is likely to have more young players develop well.

Although flexible there will be "winners and losers" with regards to fitting in, but difficult to predict who may end up worse of given that we don't really know how he'll (mostly) set us up.

Hope the mods don't mind, but I thought I'd reference and showcase #Milo's great work on this transfer thread.

It was already posted on the Podcast thread earlier but not sure whether everyone looks there.

I can imagine this was a significant investment in time to build this out.

This stuff gives me absolute brain-ache so I'm glad it's laid out in such a digestible format. It drives how we will think about new additions and departures and also how we might think about who is loaned and who remains out the younger players.

I hope Lange and Frank can do quadratic equations :)

very similar but a level up from maddision imo.

might irk some fans because he is one footed - but he is able to turn both ways effortlessly, has great passing range including an eye for a through pass, and has some goals in him too.

good competition for maddison who continues to be inconsistent

What do people think of Xavi Simons? A lot of talk about him now. I remember he was talked about as a wonderkid from the Barca academy before he moved to PSG, But haven't watched him since he has been at Leipzig.

That was 3 years ago, he is finished at PL level.....

Absolutely, legs are gone, and his "bad" attributes of old (not going with his runner in midfield) are highlighted even more. United have been utter brick because they have zero legs in midfield (Erkisen/Casimiro and Bruno never was a defensive player)

I really like Eriksen but the Brentford run should have been his swansong at this level.

Has the right mentality too.

Bergvall too. Who seemingly can play multiple roles. And not like Sarr is a super experienced player either.

Another hot prospect, sell Bissouma and the only really experienced midfielders are Bentancur, Maddison and Kulusevski? That seems thin on the experience side.

The last 3 all have plenty of experience, not old timer type but even Kulu has over 250 senior games. If we wanted experience better getting someone cheap who's around 29/30 that doesn't mind rotating a bit.

Are Bournemouth in financial trouble? Because they've already sold two big players to Madrid and Liverpool. Or are they just confident in their scouting and that they'll replace them with equally good cheaper players?
