Tottenham vs Wycombe / Luton

Desperate for midfield quality. Or confidence to step around players and pass from Bissouma and Gray. No one in the heart of our team who can dictate the game. Up front we look pretty toothless without Madison and Solanke. Only Kudus has some bite and threat.
 
Good to highlight our weaknesses now, and give Frank something to work on.

Was impressed with the quality of lower league opponents today. Wycomb passing the ball well, Luton combative and fully engaged. Not giving us space.

Don't remember anyone saying we had a great squad. Just that we shouldn't be 17th.

Whether you remember or not is irrelevant. Plenty last season said we have a really good squad, literally no one has said we should have been 17th. It still needs plenty of work if we want to compete....
 
Results don't matter in friendlies as we know. We have seen the reverse many times before, excellent results in pre season giving us a false sense of optimism only to be made to look stupid once the season starts. The one that always springs to my mind is when we crushed Roma 5-1 at WHL the week before the 07/08 season started. Only to make a terrible start to that season and Ramos got sacked.

However - that today was terrible. It's not the result but the performance. We barely looked like scoring. Friendly or not Liverpool, Arsenal, City, Chelsea and a few others don't not win that game and certainly don't create as little as we created.

Not really as I was replying to the point you made.

Great squads challenge for titles, really good ones challenge for European places.

Spot on regards squad. I have said for a while that it’s bang average. I stand by it and seeing others doing business this summer so far gaps getting bigger.

Did you think we had a great squad in the preseason under ramos, when we spanked everyone?

Preseason is absolutely meaningless result wise.
