I don't think he'll drop back down to the CB'S to pick up the ball and dictate the play. He's not that type of player. It'll be up to Fernandes and Tonali to progress the ball, possibly with Gray also moving into the midfield when we are in possession.Do wonder if Marmoush will offer the same sort of movement in the middle as Maddison? Or will he stay further up and allow Tonali and Fernandes to control the game alone
I know spirits are up and after the last two years we will cling to any sort of positivity. But I don’t think tonight will be the walk in the park some are predicting. I’ll take a win by any means right now
Up the Spurs

2024 out best player, playing in the centre.Oh, right—I forgot! As far as I’m concerned, that’s the position from which he scored most of his goals...
I have very few memories of him playing as a number 10.
Depends on whether he's expected to be a creative 10 or not. That's clearly not his strength. It's a shame Solanke has to play, he's like carrying a great weight on a hike.He is actually playing Marmoush in his natural position? Incredible
But then poor in that position ever since. I guess it depends on whether we think we can get the Conte half season Kulu on the right back. Anything after that time and he was rather poor on the right and eventually when player through the middle he was equally fantastic and dominant.Absolutely fantastic for us in that position when he joined in January and for the rest of that season.
Marmoush is not a 10. I have watched him at the afcon. I expect Maddison or Kulu to replace him. Also he needs to be more clinical!!He is actually playing Marmoush in his natural position? Incredible
We have really good squad depth, even with a few still missing. There's absolutely no reason we can't have a good season still....I like the team selection, and there's plenty of really good options on the bench if needed!
He's not a creative 10, but what you would probably call a second striker, operating in the space around the striker. That's where he's been most effective previously, and especially at Frankfurt, with Ekitike being the striker.Marmoush is not a 10. I have watched him at the afcon. No. No need to wonderDo wonder if Marmoush will offer the same sort of movement in the middle as Maddison? Or will he stay further up and allow Tonali and Fernandes to control the game alone
Take that back he’s hereNo sign of Paul Coyte….
I rate Wharton extremely highly, he has the ability to slide the ball through and put it on a plate.
I rate Mateta, he can power his way through a team.
So the key battle for me is to utterly dominate them and squash them back and kill any little ember of build up they try, just swarm them and totally smash them up, so Wharton is only defending, never looking up and spraying passes.
COYS.
