Oh sorry!I mean the moment of elation
Never apologise for having a friendly chat ladyOh sorry!
My plans to get on a train today and explore beyond Bilbao kind of went a bit awry and I’ve just been soaking up the sunshine and beer and wine so am probably missing some of the nuances in posts. Apologies.
Bilbao is a lovely place. Went to a music festival there a few years back. And strangely, the organisers of the festival had it so we got our wristbands in the Bilbao Stadium.Oh sorry!

Totally moot of course, but I wonder if Harry would have swapped a Bundesliga winner’s medal for this?
They have NEVER won a cup of this magnitude! All of the Arsenal fans at work today are calling it a Mickey mouse cup, like they have won anything close to a cup of this magnitude for years.
They did win the Cup winners cup 31 years ago, after beating European giants Odense BK, Standard Liége, Torino, PSG (pre financial doping) and Parma, though. Gotta count for something. They have NEVER won a cup of this magnitude!

Chatting amongst us at the game last night and I was saying I don’t think there is any sport that has the same emotional connection and camaraderie (and of course the opposite in terms of competitiveness and animosity) that comes with football. You just can’t explain it to anyone who doesn’t follow the sport.
I disagreeCup Winners Cup was a bigger trophy than the Uefa Cup back in the day
All day, messages from mates, a piece on the news, something posted here and I'm off blubbing again. My best mate who I used to go to Spurs with died 3 years ago this summer so there's a tinge of wishing he'd been here for this.Anyone else keep getting…erm…overly emotional when they watch the post-match celebrations? I even cried when listening to the View From the Lane podcast on the walk home from work.![]()
I disagree
This cup was always the progressive sides and the ones most likely to win their league next season
That how I’ve heard players talk about it (spurs players)
But cup winners can finish 17th in their league and be mediocreIf you won the domestic cup qualification for the CWC trumped Uefa Cup qualification - that factually makes it the bigger/better competition.

Bet I feel better than those Ars3 fans though despite my team being 15 places below themBut cup winners can finish 17th in their league and be mediocre
ExactlyYou mean like us & United?
What pot you are in doesn’t make much difference these days. As you have to play 2 teams from each pot anyway. Then knockouts are based on league finish. We're not. Think they changed it with the new format. Atalanta were pot 2, which fits with them having the 16th best coefficient.
