Tottenham Hotspur 2025 Europa League Winners !!!!!!!

We basically did to Utd what Liverpool did to us in 2019, didn’t “play” particularly well but defended brilliantly. A very mature cup final performance, laser focused and confident.

I was pretty bullish leading up to the game, knowing we had that back 5 fit and available we were always going to have a chance no matter the injuries further forward. We are an undeniably completely different side with those all playing.

Liked the vibes around the club going in to the game as well, lots of talk of winning it and general positivity rather than just making up the numbers and being happy to be there.
Indeed…. Now the team deserve watches!

Great point and this did occur to me too.

I have to laugh at the posts this morning on social media saying "how did United lose when these were the stats?" That's the danger of judging a game purely through stats. Ange went with a plan. A plan to win ugly if need be. It was almost Mourinho-esque. We were set up to be solid, give them nothing easy and we did it very well.

Credit to Ange for that.

It really did
United didn’t have many who travelled without tickets it seems
As I’m sure you saw, there were Spurs fans everywhere yesterday. Lots of Utd as well but I’d say we outnumbered them 4:1 easily. In the old town at least.
Still lots of both floating around today. Have chatted with a few Utd fans and they have been quite magnanimous in their loss, in fairness.

Policemen I spoke too said there was about 70k that came from the uk
I’d say United share is about 20 of that
We had fans everywhere like you say

Felt like we just wanted the trophy more, perhaps Utd fans were more thinking of the CL element, maybe they're just fed up with the season, we weren't thinking of those things, winning that cup was the focus and the fans were brilliant. A great night, I'm gonna go have a kip.

It meant more to us without a shadow of doubt! How was the overnight bit? A blur, did you find some all-night bars?

They had to open the airport up early. In Bilbao because so many turned up at 3
Meant open at 5 but because it was tinkling it down the police stepped in and made them open it
When we got there at 8.30 there was a lot of bodies sorted around and some sick in the taxi drop off
Spoke to a decent amount of United fans and they were gutted
My Man Utd mate can’t comprehend they’ve lost. He’s literally bereft…

I'm not a fan of stats as they are used totally out of context by most. This game was not very good spectacle but the stats show we had more possession, played more forward passes, had better percentage of accurate passes and our keeper made less saves than Palace yet theirs was an heroic victory compared to ours. I suppose it depends on your agenda.

Means nothing if we don't beat Brighton on Sunday /s

You know what, if we play Brighton off the park in a classic Ange Plan-A style on sunday... I'd lean back and just listen to the sound of brain-explosions from the "oh they were so negative and defensive in the final"-guys. (journalists and ManUtd-fans, mostly) :)

We did what needed to be done. All hail Ange! (at least today!)
