Well, all of a sudden the Super Cup really looks daunting. Levy really has to strengthen us this summer.

It's not all of a sudden that playing the team who won the most prestigious European competition has become difficult; top level opposition is a bit of a given. It doesn't change the plans in the summer whatsoever, as if we'd make a 5 year contract signing based on one match.

It's as free of a hit as you could possibly hope for, the team has earned the right to be there and it's something to enjoy, not a reason to moan if we don't manage to rework the whole squad....I do wonder how many times the EL winners have beaten the holders of the CL, it'd be a lovely achievement and there's always a chance but going by last night it's not likely.

Surprisingly, 20 out of 49 times the EL/UEFA winners have won…40%.

Usually the Champions League winners take it slightly less seriously as it’s a lesser match than the CL final, also most CL winners would prioritise the start of the league.

Unf PSG are prob an exception, as it’s the first time they’ve won the CL they’ll prob want to add the Super Cup (and already expect to win the league).

Think we’ll be bang up for it though..

That Johnson goal to win this was the first goal we have scored in a cup final in 5 cup final games. What a difference a goal makes, eh?

Hopefully van de Ven’s precious hamstrings have fully recovered from those long haul flights across the globe in the week before Super Cup, as they might be called upon if Ange decides to revert to his preferred high line against PSG’s lightning fast attack!
