in 24/25 Atlanta finished reached the knock out phase of the Champions League
in 23/24 Sevilla finished 14th in the spanish league and missed out on Champions League
in 22/23 Frankfurt finished 3rd in the french league and reached the group stage in Champions league
in 21/22 Villareal finished 5th in la liga and missed out on Champions League

Great we won a European Cup but Champions League is whole other level.

Mourinho focused on winning the league cup to get his Chelsea team going, twice. Ask Eddie Howe if the league cup was not worth anything to his team? Is anyone belittling Toon's achievement ?

Even if you're so glass half empty you can't enjoy and admire our winning this trophy, at least recognise that used right it can be a catalyst to a period of sustained success.

It's a cup competition, in of itself it's a fantastic achievement - we qualified for it and then we beat those who needed beating in order to win it, we got the trophy and that's all that matters within the context of winning a trophy - we done what was needed to win it - i had 4 fantastic away trips on this run, Istanbul, Glasgow, Bodø & Bilbao, along with every home fixture - great stuff, loved every minute of it.

Any trophy, let alone a European trophy is certainly not to be sneezed at, but for us, who have been deprived of what older fans like me regard as our "rightful place at the Trophy Table", this Trophy is a mini miracle.
