Timo Werner

That makes him.older than Richie, and his record over the past couple of seasons has been worse.
Their finishing is fairly similar, they tend to miss medium to difficult chances. Wener is probably even more guilty of missing the easy ones but both are quite poor in that regard.

What he has over Richy is better control, genuine pace and the ability to beat a player. They both press, Werner is probably better in that regard tbh and his short passing is a lot crisper. On paper he should fit the Ange system better than Richy, the question is can he finish the chances he will get?

I guess Ange knows what he is doing so I guess it is best to just roll with it.

Worse in the air though I think, and we've gotten some goals from crosses that he may not have put away.

Gives us another option at the very least. We haven't exactly had too many attacking options on the bench recently.

When we played RB Leipzig in the CL, I remember thinking they would have murdered us if he could finish. He did nothing at Chelsea to change that opinion, and now RB want rid! Anyone Man U scout is a red flag too. In Ange we trust though!

The latter part is key
If it means we can move Richy wide or vice versa and not play someone like Gil who is awful it makes us better

He did score though in that game IIRC

While I agree a 6 month loan is a low risk, there is every reason to be sceptical considering hus shabby goal return.

Sure, he might come good but there is nothing in nothing in the last 30 months to suggest he would. Over that time period he has scored less goals than Richarlison and that is not a high bar.

Well, in Ange I trust
He has 150+ goals in his career already at 27. Including a spell of 95 in 159 games before Chelsea. Plus almost 1 in 2 (24 in 57) for a poor German side. Not saying he is the answer but for a 6 month emergency loan I'm not sure we could do any better. Has to be a better choice than someone like Wieghorst.

If he hadn’t played for Chelsea you would say it was outstanding

16 in 40 last season then barely played this season (200 minutes) what happened to him? Injured/new manager?

I think it’s the new players they brought in via Salzburg (sesko)
They also paid a lot of money for Openda who has been great but cost €40m ish IIRC
