Thomas Frank - Head Coach

This is the bit I don't understand. Is he missing a first choice defensive option?

For me, he might have two good defensive midfielders but they don't get about the midfield and press aggressively. We need some more dynamic midfielders to press and help transition the ball into attack
And pass too
We need midfielders who cAn take risks in the passing

Howe is doing ok at Saudi Sportswashing Machine. Similar CV to Frank.

As I said back in the summer we as a fanbase would be best served by moving away from the idea of there being a quick-fix to turning us in to challengers, be that appointing a certain manager or buying the right player.

If we expect every manager to be an instant magic bullet then ultimately they will all come up short - Frank is as unlikely to be that man as whoever it is we appoint next and after that and so on. Doesn't mean we can't progress to a level before reassessing further down the line.
This is literally the problem, too many of use think we are better than we are. I think as a fan base deep down inside we expect with a competent coach (what Frank appears to be) that we just slide right back into that serious top 4 battle. Frank coming in isn't a reset in their eyes, its a return to where we are supposed to be.

We played Arsenal away last year with a defence of

Kinky

Porro Drago Gray Spence

And lost 2-1 in an awful game bit created more than today and didn’t get spanked like today
Arsenal are a better side today than they were last year you do need to take that into account as well.

Eze playing in the AM role (as i told you was his position) is far better than last season with an off form Odegaard.

I don’t think people expect that do they? Not what I remember from the expectations thread anyway. Think consensus was 5-9th which is what we’re on course for.

Eze wasn’t the reason
He was part of a team with a plan and he benefitted. He is a quality player foo
They are a better side but we had 8 first choice defensive players today and defended worse than we did with drago and gray playing
That says a lot
And they were missing their man scorer against us today on Gabriel although Trossard may take that mantle

I think ppl say that, but their reactions say otherwise. Can we play better for sure, can we be more attacking, again definitely. Will we be able to so successfully? I doubt it personally because we don't have a well-rounded 11 imo. I get it, we played callow football today but if we had gone for it we probably still get spanked, would the reactions be any different? Maybe i'm wrong and we are ready to accept our truth and accept that if we play a balanced game it probably isn't a winning one in a match against this Arsenal.

I don't think we defended any worse, Arsenal just attacked a lot better. This Arsenal against last years Spurs and you likely get the same result. They are significantly better than they were last term.

Maybe
But we also attacked last year despite missing players and clearly being a mess
Their XG today was 1.88 and last season 1.44

I think we’ve got a 5-9th placed squad that’s fairly young, which is encouraging for a rebuild with a new manager. Loads of room for improvement of course.

I think people’s reactions are a little bit based on arguments running over from the last regime and tit for tat complaints.

In my view he's done in the summer

The fans have not taken to him, I don't think he's blameless but we are now in a world with zero patience

are we at the point where mopo is the only one to get the vast majority of the fan base on side now?

But unless the Lewis family (rebranded themselves ) put their hand in their pockets we won't be troubling the top 4 for a while.

He won’t be done if he sorts out the home form
He will be if he thinks set pieces are the only way to score

Mid table squad doing mid table things

Another one we let slip through the net, always seems to score or assist against us.

I hope you're not right. I'm critical of the football that's been served up thus far, but I do like him and hope he can turn things around.

He doesn't help himself with the way he sets up, what is accepted by Brentford fans isn't going to be the same with Spurs fans - he's an intelligent guy, he must see this.

He deserves the time, he earnt his stripes at Brentford - the only way he won't is if fans turn on him in the stadium, which from what I've seen isn't the case?...

Let me come ah this differently because I’ve heard it’s injuries that mean we don’t attack..
I looked at villas line up today and I think we’re comfortably comparable with the players we have available… yet we play rigid attacking football
