Thomas Frank - Head Coach

From all I have seen of him, and I'm not talking about the last week, but before any connection with us, I liked what I have heard and seen. (Inc this Linekar vid, a while back)

It's important (too me) that our manager is a decent human being.
Decent human beings know how to spell Lineker #justsayin

One thing that should be interesting is that we'll see how much Frank benefitted from Brentford's approach to transfer dealings. IIRC, Brentford have the same owner as Midtjylland in Denmark - a club that, a decade or so ago, was considered as the forefront of player recruitment because they mixed a stats-based and a psychological approach. I'm curious to see which of Frank or Brentford will fare better next season.

Giving a chance to a manager with a good reputation that manages a team that play in red and white stripes? Deja vu

Think it will be announced tomorrow, hopefully no major issues arising. I’m fully behind Frank now. Think it’s a sensible appointment if not a glamorous one. That being said I think with better attacking options Frank can play front foot football, just might be a case of picking and choosing when depending on opponents.

Anytime a manager from one of the supposed lesser teams is given a chance at a bigger club I do have thoughts of Alan Curbishley but don’t think (hope) this is the case

The line about the "i can't have all the best players in the world so its a balance between the offensive style I want to play and the style that suits the players I have" is the killer for me as to why we can expect an improvement...literally the polar opposite to "its just who we are mate"

Also a line that means he should be a good fit for the current club philosophy in the market

Apart from MidoManLover who has had the best start to anything that I’ve witnessed … Frank is starting to warm to me.

Well, the cynic view is he will work with a cheap budget, reality Ange's budget in two years exceeded what Frank spent in 7 at Brentford across every measure (total/net/wages), so it will be more for him anyway.

The club he works for does plenty of data based buys, so we won't get the "club signing" commentary either.

Lots of reasons he seems a logical, safe pair of hands with potential but unknown upside.

It's a happy coincidence that two of those Brentford proposed signings, Gray and BJ, Frank will now get to work with.
