Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Does it even matter? The transfer window isn't open for another 2 weeks (?) and first day of training is still 3 weeks away.
A lot of work to be done this summer so it matters somewhat. But a day or two here or there probably doesn't matter much and these things will typically take some time.

Good thing about getting someone from the PL is that he'll already have good knowledge about the squad.

Yes. When we look at our first team and think it looks absolutely fine…we then need to assume 5 injuries and 3 being rested = take a good look at the second team as that WILL play a lot this season
Very difficult to say not knowing how we'll want to play. A lot of players there that are "fine" in terms of level of quality, but have to be a good fit to the system to actually be good enough.

Then there's the issue of balance.

Then the issue of a lack of experience.

It may be that under Frank we see more switching in of players on a game-by-game basis if he views them as being better fits against certain opponents or within a specific game setup. As opposed to having a first team/starting XI.

This video gives a fascinating and open insight to how Frank adjusts a system to take account of the league situation and the opponent he is playing:

I definitely want some flexibility in our team, but we also need to have our own identity. So a base system that works well and then is tweaked for opponents we might struggle against.

So when is this going to happen? its like he is our Manager already but not yet confirmed. Spurs. it always takes days and weeks for transfers.

Sounds like its all agreed in principle but final level of compensation still being worked out with Brentford which includes the staff members Franky boy wants to bring across.

May also be an element that Brentford want to progress on replacement prior to official announcement.

As I guessed earlier, this may be the issue here.
All transfers take days. This one isn't even at a week yet so chill your beans, fella!

Forest are such an anomaly, all credit to our former manager!
Look at where Wolves and Valencia were under him and where they are now. We treated him like turd and never gave him a chance.

Promising performances suffered when he had to integrate a sulking negative, slump-shouldered Kane into the team and he was sacked at the first sign of resulting trouble after giving him, what, Romero and Emerson in the transfer market....?

This seems to be very good news as Cochrane is very highly regarded and will surely facilitate Frank's smooth integration here.
The Brentford forum I looked at a few days ago were very much in agreement that they didn't mind Frank taking certain staff, but at no costs was Cochrane to go (most wanted him as Franks successor). They must be seething :D....

Cochrane has worked with Matt Wells at Spurs a few years back, so hopefully this will just work a that bit more towards hitting the ground running and getting that new structure in place fast.

They'll likely get McKenna, who is quite a few years further down he line than Cochrane

They are not happy about him coming aswell as Joe Newton who is highly regarded snd Brentford.
