The Official 2018/19 Premier League Thread

I heard it from my house. Thought it was a massive firework going off, but now realise what it was :-O

Crazy. Helicopters are not that safe are they?

The helicopter took off from the pitch, maybe damaged the tail rotar ? and spireled out of control. Tradgic. At least it didn't crash into a built up area.

Seems strange he used the pitch as it can't be good for the surface. Seems a bit like showing off.

It also may expose them to an extra risk. Within the stadium there will be no winds, then as soon as they get above stand height they will suddenly be exposed to any winds.

Considering the area it crashed, you're right. Could have walked out the ground to a sectioned off area of the carpark and flown off.

Helicopters also seem much more prone to mechanical failiur or foul play than a plane.

Helicopters don't have any backup systems. If you have a mechanical failure it will come crashing down, unlike an aeroplane where you can fly on one engine or in some cases glide. I don't know if helicopters are more prone to mechanincal failures than aeroplanes, but the consequence of such failure is an almost inevitable crash.

Anyway, tragic news and a brick weekend for football altogether. Even if it's not official yet, I'm going with RIP.

fudging hell! Arse must be the luckiest team ever! First Zaha hits the post, and moments later, Palace cuts through their defense like a hot knife through butter, only for Townsend to miss from 3 yards.

Lucky that they're playing against a team with Zaha and Townsend in it.
