Agreed about the wait but that doesn't mean we shouldn't believe the victims

Not stopping players from training or earning money what they can't do is play football. It's up to the police to investigate all accusations then charge or not whatever the case maybe. As for writing a letter the police would require an interview with victim to even consider going forward the police aren't stupid.

Perhaps there is another way. We all know this case has taken 3 years but what we don't know is whether that was "3 years work in 3 years" or whether it was "6 weeks work in 3 years". The likelihood is that it could have probably ben done quicker if they could throw enough resources at it. Tax payers money was inevitably involved.

So I'm wondering whether the FA/PL/EFL should just create the separate fund from the significant TV deals and make sure that it is accessible to the police and legal teams. It would be a way of football stepping up and making sure it is being proactive.

If a footballer is accused of *struggle cuddle* whoever he is whoever he plays for gets stood down. It's as simple as that. If it takes 3 years so be it. It's *struggle cuddle* man come on

Wow. You’d end careers on the basis of any accusation. That is mad. Anyone wishing to cause you harm could write a letter and end your career. How is that workable?

What letter there has to be an accusation to the police. What do you think the police are going to do with a letter. I choose to believe the victims you choose to give the possible perpetrators the benfit of the doubt.

Not if implemented properly here in Oz the NRL have a no fault stand down policy league wide. If you have been accused of a serious crime you are stood down. You still train & get paid. The Premier league could easily impose something similar they won't of course.

What we need is a properly funded justice system that can turn these things around quickly.

Yes they do I was using it as example as to what can be done. I would prefer once an accusation to the police is made the player is stood down. If the premier league went with the NRL model it would be a start

I agree they should (at least) go with that model, BUT in Parteys case that model would have only seen him 'stood down' this week.
3 years difference compared to the accusations date. It's tough to know where to draw the line given that time variance.

If any club had a player that was accused of rape they shouldn't be able to play him. Partey case seems overly long were the police reluctant to charge while season was ongoing. It seems odd that his contract expires then he is charged
