The Goon Thread - Officially Second In A One Horse Race

That doesn't surprise me. Can anyone remember that video on youtube of their fans in a pub with a live band singing a song which he changed to include arsenal lyrics? If anyone can find it please post it as its VERY embarrassing.

Reminds me of a The Simpsons episode where Homer met Lionel Richie on Mr. Burns' private jet and made him sing one of his famous songs (Say you, say me..) while substituting every word in the lyrics with 'beer'

:ross:

'The little boy inside him saying join me! It’s been a long time since you won a trophy.
And that was for being a young personality. Given to you by the BBC.'

They're...they're actually reminding him that the only trophy he ever won with them was the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award?

And that he's got nothing but pace?

And that he's not as good as Oxlade-Chamberlain, or Gervinho, or Podolski, or Giroud?

And that if he doesn't sign they'll stick him on the bench with Frimpong?

And..and this is actually to persuade him to sign a new contract!?

Wowzer.

Holy crap they are pathetic and as said above it is not exactly a nice video and is more then likely going to have the opposite effect and push him to the door. To have your own fans taking the tinkle out of you like that, wow.

Wowzer.

Is Frimpong benched or injured? I'm still awaiting the midfield masterclass all my goon mates promised

As a motivational ploy its up there with Piers Morgan promising to jump off the Santa Monica pier (no relation) with concrete boots on if RVP signs for United. I haven't heard, when will this be on TV?

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger remains confident of agreeing a new deal with Walcott, but Gunners chairman Peter Hill-Wood insists they will not break the bank to secure the England international's future.

"We have got our general overall wage structure and we are not prepared to break it for anybody," Hill-Wood told the Daily Star. "We have made an offer which he didn't think was acceptable and that is the end of it. We think it is a very reasonable offer.

"For the moment his people are still talking to us and we hope it will be resolved. But don't ask me when, because I haven't a clue.

"I hope that he will eventually come round and sign. It will be a pity if he does not, but the whole issue of pay for footballers has got totally out of hand and they don't get terribly well advised a lot of the time."

Don't break the wage structure? The one where you pay average players twice as much as they would get at any other club and can't get rid of them?

Exactly, while they wont pay over the odds on transfer fee's, their wage bill is mooohassive

If Walcotts not all about the money, why don't the gooner board offer him £10k a week, and a guaranteed spot up front?

Deja vu?

Apparently Arsenal have made 830 more accurate passes than Tottenham this season. I'd rather have our 2 extra points though.
