The Case for the Attacking play

Kane rarely got a goal out of nothing
Even he he would struggle atm with no service - but he would be in better positions - to receive passes.
Son could get a goal out of nothing.
We miss peak Son
When we were playing well in Ange's first ten games- it was all Maddison and Son.

Right now only Kulu and Bergvall are definitely good enough front six players.
Kudus might be - and Bentancur is ok.
The rest are bottom half PL players at best.

Kane scored 30 PL goals in his last season with us. A season in which we were otherwise awful. Many of those were goals he had to make for himself. He dropped deep, got on the ball and scored. But Kane isn’t just a good striker.

It's frustrating that when we need a goal, it's our CB's that looks more likely of scoring than anyone else on the pitch.

Why can't any of the forwards make the run that Romero did for the header?
Noone is shooting at all. Seems we are trying to walking it. So we outperform our xG, but that's because we don't take chances.

To me because those situations mean we have more players in the box, there's more chaos. Typically we cross hopefully into a box with maybe two attackers, predictably with the opposition defenders knowing well in advance that a cross is coming in.

I don't see us getting into a lot of decent shooting positions and not letting fly.

He can’t make that run if the forwards don’t take players with them
And the only reason they are doing that, at that point, is we have actually got more on the pitch.
The gap between defence and attack is huge physically and tactically

Our forwards are crap which doesn’t help the unimaginative buildup play.

Really hard to judge how crap they are with literally no supply or support

Yes and no. But we know what the likes of Richarlison can and can’t do as we’ve seen him operate under multiple managers. Less so for Solanke but even with him I think we have a good idea of what his strengths and weaknesses are. We don’t have a single world class player in the squad that can get you out of your seat other then VDV bit I’m not sure he’s consistent enough to be considered world class.

Is there anything about or anyone at the club that you actually like?

Yeah plenty actually. I like VDV, Romero and Bergvall to name a few. But I don’t think we have any world class players, nor do I think our squad is good enough to compete for major honours on a consistent basis so I’m not going to lie to myself and pretend players who aren’t good enough are better than they actually are. I don’t know how it helps to act morally superior and posture about being a better fan. If you want to act like THFC can do no wrong then go ahead but that won’t improve the team.

I also think our fans for the most part are very good which is ironic that you’re slating me for not liking anything or anyone about the club as you’re continually slagging off our fans who pay their hard earned money to watch the club.

Walking pace at best

I clocked that real time, and was so disappointed to see Vic back on the ball. I partially blame Kudus though. Brennan takes a load of stick but he had intelligently come over to Kudus's side and gone on the right wing overlap. It's in these moments that your 2 wide players can work together for a change and get at the their defence. It's their job to take responsibility, and no blame should be passed to Frank. He's not told them to go back to the keeper. This is on the players for me.

It was eye bleeding stuff at times. Kudus is often the biggest culprit (i think he often slows down our play far too much), but the jogging and lack of initiative to take advantage of the fact we had some men on them in attack was shocking

The point around 10 seconds into that clip is really telling, at this point Kudus has an easy pass inside to Bentancur who has got himself into a nice central position and ahead of Saudi Sportswashing Machine's player who hasn't tracked him. If that ball is played then it opens up another easy pass to (I think it is) Sarr who would be running into space and in areally good central postition or another reasonably simple pass to Muani who, again, would be in a really good position in the centre of the pitch. Or even a pass to Udogie who could come in from his wing and be in acres of space and one on one with Saudi Sportswashing Machine's right back.

The pass inside to Bentancur is not even a high risk pass, it is a simple one that has zero danger. This 'horse shoe' shaped football we are playing when we have the ball is making it extremely difficult for us to create chances.

I just don’t think they are being coached to, or asked to play those passes
And there are many other examples like that
Ponderous
Slow
Only
Lethargic
So many ways to describe it
None of them are good although the Frankenphiles will claim it’s keeping the ball

The other thing to note (forgetting about the team for a moment) is they are not going to improve as players playing like this. And one thing we do have a hope for, is the potential in this squad. We have youth on our side, and youth that looks to have talent.

They can improve with age I guess but I agree
There has to be more of a plan because it looks like there is no plan at all
Teams don’t fear us one bit

You have described 80% of Spurs sides from the last 25 years
