The Case for the Attacking play

I mean I know you like to defend Frank but he has set 2 club records in less than 13 league games for record low chance creation
That’s not anything we have even seen in the last 25 years
Even 30 years I believe (when they started collating data)

Has absolutely nothing to do with defending Frank that comment, genuinely, your comment is alot of Spurs sides I have seen in the last 25 years

Ponderous
Slow
Only
Lethargic

Walking pace at best

What this shows is that we have been coached to advance in only one way; go wide, lay it off and see if there's any purchase to be had from the wide areas/can a cross be swung in. Look at the lack of movement inside when ONE runner/player in such an area would've created two possible ways to fashion an opportunity. The direction of play once that first tactic is smothered? Well...

The point around 10 seconds into that clip is really telling, at this point Kudus has an easy pass inside to Bentancur who has got himself into a nice central position and ahead of Saudi Sportswashing Machine's player who hasn't tracked him. If that ball is played then it opens up another easy pass to (I think it is) Sarr who would be running into space and in areally good central postition or another reasonably simple pass to Muani who, again, would be in a really good position in the centre of the pitch. Or even a pass to Udogie who could come in from his wing and be in acres of space and one on one with Saudi Sportswashing Machine's right back.

The pass inside to Bentancur is not even a high risk pass, it is a simple one that has zero danger. This 'horse shoe' shaped football we are playing when we have the ball is making it extremely difficult for us to create chances.

This.

It’s so so basic
Said it after the Bournemouth game and nothing has changed
It relies on brilliance from the players rather than the system and structure
Don’t get it at all TBH

I don't even know if we are trying not to lose the ball,or just have no clue what to do.

The telling thing for me is we only seem to want to cross the ball into the box yet our wide options are so slow to move into space, and when they do, the midfield pass the ball sideways or backwards.

We just seem to be scared.

Yeah plenty actually. I like VDV, Romero and Bergvall to name a few. But I don’t think we have any world class players, nor do I think our squad is good enough to compete for major honours on a consistent basis so I’m not going to lie to myself and pretend players who aren’t good enough are better than they actually are. I don’t know how it helps to act morally superior and posture about being a better fan. If you want to act like THFC can do no wrong then go ahead but that won’t improve the team.

I also think our fans for the most part are very good which is ironic that you’re slating me for not liking anything or anyone about the club as you’re continually slagging off our fans who pay their hard earned money to watch the club.

Yep, I complain about fans abusing people, singing “you don’t know what you’re doing” to our manager and going on about sexy and nonsense like that. If that makes me look like I’m trying to be morally superior then thank you for the compliment.

Sorry if I’ve mistakenly characterised you but I feel like all I ever read from you is how brick Vicario, Johnson and Richarlison are. I think you might have issues with Porro and Udogie too from memory. I could be wrong but it just seems like there’s never really much positive out of you and if one of those players doesn’t have a 8/10 game you’ll be immediately in their threads.

Aargh I've just watched it (that Tweet above) 10 times and it gets worse and worse.
The number of opportunities and options and decisions made and it is just awful, then awful, then awful, then worse.

We have talented players that can PLAY in a situation like that, versus an unsettled defence, go for it and show us how good you are.

Every couple of days they show us training videos where the attack waltzes in and smacks the ball into the net with ease, yet every match they make it seem impossible to get near the box, let alone actually try a shot, and definitely not a shot on target, and heaven forbid a wicked shot that the keeper will struggle with.
