***Spurs vs Saudi Sportswashing Machine***, League Cup, 29th October 2025 at St James Park

The comments by Frank about not playing the same players for 60 games a season tells us there will be changes. Pretty sure Kinsky will start , at a whole load of clubs back up goalie usually gets the League Cup matches, also expecting to see Archie , Pape, Lucas, Wilson and Mathys playing a big part in the match. Giving Micky a break is difficult with Ben and Radu still not available but he needs one .

I think he has to be experimental here...personally, I'd field the following 11:

Kinsky

Spence
Danso
Gray

Johnson
Bergvall
Bentancur
Sarr

Tel
Richy
Odobert

I know the chances are virtually zero as TF hasn't played a 3 this season. It would ask a lot of Johnson and Bergvall on the cover, but at this stage of the season I think we need to manage minutes until a few are back, and Chelsea on Sat night is a real opportunity to grab IMO as they are wobbly this season. Porro, Vdv, Pahlinha, Kudus and Xavi all need a break. I'd like Scarlett on the bench and getting at least 25 mins.

I would pretty much throw in the kids and give them some game time, but expect very little

I don't think we can compete in 4 competitions; we are doing OK in the Premier League and CL which are far higher priority

So something has to give

Even if we did scrape past NEW, we would still need to beat some of these to win it:

ARS LIV MNC CHE

This cup is such a low priority nowadays, I clicked on BBC Sport to see what it is called tomorrow and it said League Cup. So I searched the same site for League Cup and it couldn't find it. I eventually found it under EFL Cup. I thought it was called Carabao Cup? Anyway, it is not a priority for me, bigger fish to fry.

With wage bills in the millions , what you can win from the Caraboa Cup is pretty pathetic for the top clubs, it will be won by luck of the draw and squad depth.
