Ok, window shut now for the summer. How do you rate our dealings overall?

P.S. -I'm going to leave the poll open until late November...

It's obviously only a poll about the incoming side of the transfer window.

I don't think we've been that great at shifting players again. When I look at how our nearest rivals shift players and build their kitty, it does leave me with some envy. Our squad is bloating again even though the incomings have been very good.

The poll is about how the window as a whole can be judged, excuse some of my wording.
So you can judge it on incoming AND outgoings

4 first team ready signings including 2 with PL experience is very good.

Probably needed another full back as cover/competition and possibly a CM to be classed as a complete window for incomings - so a B i think is fair

The squad isn't bloating, plenty of players have been sold, released, or contract came to an end. There's also loads gone out on loan.
We needed the extra numbers that we got up front.

The current playing squad after loans isn't massively bloated but we'll see again tomorrow that some players won't make the UEFA squad. You could perhaps offset that based on 2 of them being on loan and Biss and Davies being out of contract in a year's time. However, when these loanees imminently mature into seniors it will be. Most of them are in loan season 2 or 3 at this stage and will want 1st team football in a years time. Then the squad will look more like 35 players again trying to fit into 25 spaces.

In some ways, it's a nice problem to have because it is bloating for the right reasons. We need to be careful though.

Most of the players out on loan are young and are still developing. It's too early to make a decision on them. Even if they don't make it for the level we want we'll still be able to offload them for a few quid. There's no issues there.

For PL I think it's closed.
Might be different for lower leagues.

I am still expecting Solomon and Gil out.

Gil has gone for 10 mill...I think we will see Soloman given a chance somewhere. Strikes me that because we couldn't get Lookman on a straight loan that we declined the deal (wisely IMO - IF that is what happened, I am speculating). Rumours about Dom were circulating from yesterday, ,so in that context the Muani deal is excellent work given the time we had to get him in. I think the only glaring area is left CB/FB however Davies can do the job there in the league if needed I suppose. Overall, however, I think it's a really good window. We have four players in who improve the quality of the squad and we locked our skipper down. I think we are holding our left-wing money for Savinho either in Jan or next summer (again guesswork on my part, no clue)...

I think we have done really well there. All the loanees are going to benefit from the extra gamete, so it's a win-win. Bissouma is possibly the player who loses most, albeit with the Turkish window open for another 12 days you feel he is on his way?

In pure numbers we have 29 listed on the first team page and 5 seniors on loan. We also have 7 U21s on loan. I'm not sure from the rest of the U21s/18s who might emerge into 1st team contention but we're close to the 40 mark of players who will want 1st team football i.e. not be an U21 and play in PL2. Perhaps that reduces by a couple if we see announcements around Gil and Solomon in the next 24 hours.

It's an interesting numerical equation. I just hope we do have the club competence to move on first teamers if any of those kids deserve the first team slot. Andy Scoudling's role will be crucial link between.

Getting these oven-ready players in is a massive improvement.

We have sooooo many youngsters who are not yet ready to carry the team through 60 games. They need cameos, sub appearances, the odd game then out of the limelight for a bit.

We spent well, about 55m on Kudus and 52m on Simons and then a small loan fee for Palhinha/RKM so that is good business all round.

Now we just have to impress the latter two and sign them up.

Yes, clearly we don't expect all kids to become first teamers, the majority will be sold for profit, just like every other club in the division.

We all WANT them to be good enough, but it is highly likely they'll all be sold soon - Abbott, Devine, Scarlett, favourites like Lankshear, Hall and Donley, they can't compete if we are buying established internationals like Palhinha/ Xavi Simons etc.

Perhaps Moore will make it in, perhaps Luca Williams Barnett, perhaps Byfield, but the vast majority will be sold off for cash.

Almost an A for me. We have Tel and Odobert for the LW, and I'm quite happy that those two get to crack at it there, instead of having brought in another guy who might have blocked their chances.

Super happy with Kudus, Palhinha, Xavi and Kolo Muani.

I wanted us to have cover at LB or RB. Would've been a clear A from me if we got that. But hey! Very very close. Think the recruitment team has done a stellar job this summer!
