Savinho

Rashford: I think ideally you'd want a loan with an option. Problem is he has two years left on his contract and I assume is on 300k plus.
So United are motivated to want him gone on a permanent, wages of the book and contract not running down another year with a loan.
I'd imagine we'd only want to pay him half his current salary to entertain a permanent deal. I'd doubt he'd except. Far too risky to go for a permanent deal now, as at his age it's a sunk cost if he turns out flaky.

On Savinho....give him a bit of a break with the stats...he's not long turned 22...came to City young, and as we know your trajectory under Pep could be anything.
£70m feels toppy though. £50-55m, then yes. (This is Savinho in isolation, not including the considerations of squad design and available pot of money of signing him)

Based on the lack of end product and holding onto the ball to much, I am not so sure.
He is 22, lack of end product is often the last thing to arrive for a skilful winger. The fact he can easily beat a man one on one is something we don't have a whole lot of and an important attribute for the bigger teams.

With some good coaching he can go up levels, and as someone who saw plenty of him at Girona he can have end product when in the right environment....

Sorry I don't agree, 22 in footballing terms isn't young

I watched the two games yesterday and Tel looked every bit as good if not beyond Savinho based on PSF, not that I genuinely put too much emphasis on it, but calling what I saw.

I don't think we should be paying 60m for another "work in progress"

I don't rate Odobert as much as other on here, but if people were to watch his "Welcome to Tottenham" video again today they would like be of the same mindset IMO

As has already been discussed every ones progress takes a different path. To look at a 21 year old and a 22 year old and decide who's going to be better is impossible - not to mention they play different areas of the pitch. And then there is as has been mentioned Semenyo who was where exactly at 22?

Our recruitment team has got a lot right despite criticism and this appears to be someone they've persisted with and if we sign him then RDZ has quite clearly looked at him, liked what he sees and thinks can coach him up levels and to be honest looking at his attributes I think any decent coaching can do that with him.

Don't particularly care about the fee, fees are only ever discussed in pre season - once the football gets going if he does well no one will be going on about it....

I think that part is just really fanciful. I have seen dozens of players with the same attributes in my life of watching football over 30 years and I have seen the same said about all of them. Its neither as easy as your statement makes out.

You wanna sign another project player, thats cool, I don't, we have two already

I don't think he's as much of a project player as you think, but we can agree to disagree mate.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if after all this it's someone completely different we are in for - have seen it all time and time again where players linked over multiple windows never get end up happening, and most of our signings actually come out of the blue - a name none of us have been discussing :D ....

I think with what he lacks (which is similar profile to what we have in that respect) he most def is IMO.

I hope it is
