The Saudis are steadily retreating out of sports. They got their prize, which is the 2034 world cup.
More broadly the fossil fuel phase out is starting to bite into their finances. And specifically they seem to be consolidating in England more in Chelsea than Saudi Sportswashing Machine, but even Chelsea are seeing scaling back.

You can’t use certain journos like Romano and Jacob’s to push your position. You either trust that they know what’s going on to a certain extent or wipe the floor with them anytime they post.
My personal position is that they are probably right we are bidding for certain players, but brick happens. And when brick happens it’s nice to keyboard smash and vent once or many times in a transfer window

The noise around Arsenal and Guimaraes is getting louder, if the club are serious about this they better go back with a improved offer or move on, there is no chance in hell Saudi Sportswashing Machine sell Gordon, Guimaraes and Tonali in one window.

Saudi Sportswashing Machine have not much incentive to accept an offer from us if they think a big money bid from Arsenal could be coming, unless we make it very large indeed. BUt Arsenal are in a position to have 'exploratory talks' about a number of midfielders and then deciding which one to go for, if any.

But I suspect the noise around Arsenal has come from Saudi Sportswashing Machine feeding journos to get Spurs to up their bid.

Arsenal signing Tonali would make absolutely no sense. They are also up against it’s more than we are from a PSR side. They can really only make one marquee signing this is summer unless they sell a big name player.
