Forwards area is absolutely horrible in my opinion. We really need a better striker.Wonder how RDZ feels about the shape of his squad for the big season kickoff. You get the feeling that for the ones he can, he has really put them through their paces and we'll have a fit bunch of guys. I have a feeling he'll be a little concerned about some of the squad though, not to mention the lack of depth in the forward areas.
I'd have to add Glenn Hoddle to that list. For all his faults he loves the club like any true fan. It's as you write but I think we'll have a better perspective at the end of the season (if he is still here). We've missed having a manager who gets the club and its fans. I my time we've had Nicholson, Burkinshaw, Pleat, Ardiles, Jol and Pochettino men you felt the club meant as much to them as it does to us.
I'm trying to contain my enthusiasm, TBH. Can't see us not progressing massively from the brickshow of most parts of last season. Obviously we're no title contenders, but if we keep building and improving from the end of last season, I can see us competing for CL qualification again. We are going to be a work in progress this season. Depending on how the window finishes we should be on paper ready to challenge for a European place again. I wouldn't expect too much more as we have essentially ripped out the core and started again and that will take time to gel. It's also no certainty that each of these additions works exactly as well as hoped. Next season still needs to be a season where we have patience and give De Zerbi time to build towards something. We never going to be able to fix everything wrong with the playing squad in one window but we've made quite an effort at doing so.
I don't think we should be setting any strict targets but we should be looking to see continual progression.
Forwards area is absolutely horrible in my opinion. We really need a better striker.
Osimhen was coming, but you persuaded him to join arsenal.Forwards area is absolutely horrible in my opinion. We really need a better striker.

Hard to see him ever being surpassed. How many goalkeepers would be in contention for player of the year, let alone win it? In The Glory Game (a must read for all Spurs fans) the author interviewed a Leeds scout that had been sent to write a report on Spurs ahead of an upcoming game. He struggled to find anything negative about Big Pat, mentioning that he had made a questionable positioning decision early in the game but never did it again. And after we lost to Leeds, their fans joked with the Spurs board that they would only want to swap goalkeepers with us. (Gary Sprake was probably the one weak link in their team).Fantastic keeper, our best ever,
I stand corrected -- he won 2 player of the year awards:Hard to see him ever being surpassed. How many goalkeepers would be in contention for player of the year, let alone win it? It says something about him that he is beloved at Spurs and Arsenal. What a blunder that was in transferring him!
