Randal Kolo Muani

Sounds and looks perfect for us on that…
It would certainly have been much harder for Bornemouth to nullify us if we had Xavi and Kolo Muani on the pitch along with Kudus. In those games, we're now much better off with that trio of tricky, creative and unpredictable players.

Very excited to have him on board, and if he does as well as I think, I hope the club is able to sign him permanently.

What's interesting, is that I've always thought Richi was better as a left forward than a number nine. He was excellent in the EL final for the first hour or so. It's certainly the way that Watford and Everton utilised him.

With Muani joining, there is certainly scope for Richi to start left forward alongside Muani and the 2 of them stay on the high press. Then we would have Kudus and Simons playing the central and right roles but slightly deeper. Simons seems to play 10 from with a left bias so he would tuck in on Richi's sides. All our central midfielders are right footed players so naturally they push Kudus forward. As long as our 6 midfield and forwards all work their arses off, this will suit Frank's system. Palhinha will keep our defence protected and there will still be scope for the full-backs to attack wide.

First though, we have to get more than our right side as the main attacking outlet. Frank has to balance it.

Yeah. Having several threats is so important. Be it left, right or centre or having more than one good ball progressing player or more than one holdup player. For some things you can get away with one if that player is exceptional at it.

Kolo Muani seems to offer a bit of everything to a good standard.

If we go long we know how Richarlison can struggle to hold the ball up. Richarlison and Kolo Muani offers way more. Not saying he's excellent at it, but gives us two targets and the opposition two players to worry about in that regard. And if one of them is wide they'll be up against a full back rather than centre back, and most PL centre backs are really good in those situations.

Or with ball progression, dribbling, creativity. Kolo Muani I think won't offer as much as Kudus. But he offers enough to be one more player to worry about with that. If opponents like Bournemouth shut down one side he's capable of hurting them on the other side.

Gives us options and balance in more ways than one. Assuming he plays to or close-ish to his best.

Like the fact that he will light a fire up our other players ass in terms of competition since he can play anywhere across the front

This video is quite interesting. I've watched Muani in the past but this guy has clearly seen more of him than I have, it's largely in line with my thoughts of him. Short but good analysis.

Thanks Bish. I watched it and only then realised it is Jaco off of Twitter, who I follow anyway as he's an interesting dude.

Agree, the video makes RKM look as good as Isak. Not bad for free.

Seems like Spurs are VERY willing to spend 50m or 60m or maybe 70m on real star players, so after 1 year the fee for RKM will definitely be affordable for us.

So if he enjoys it and plays really well, it is a definite possibility he stays. I assume his mates like Tel/ Odobert/ Xavi Simons will help, plus we have other French speakers in the squad e.g. Pape Sarr and ?

At the end of his loan, if we do want to try and buy him, it seems like Juventus would no longer be a rival, if the press outlet's insight is in any way accurate.

PSG, and specifically Les Parisiens’ president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, were left frustrated by the Serie A side’s management of the failed Kolo Muani deal. Al-Khelaifi’s message to Juventus’ directors has now been revealed by Sports Zone. “You’ve been making fun of us for weeks. It’s over. You won’t win the case. I’ll remember your methods, you can count on that,”

It'll be very interesting to see how soon he gets to start for us. We've obviously had him on our radar for a while now...good late raid to make sure we have cover given the way both Richarlison and Solanke are injury prone

I expect him to start straight away, he's both the best striker now on our books but also the best suited to what Frank's wants to play do far. He's not perfect of course but I expect to see him straight away.

I don't know RKM all that well but I have a concern his shooting can be a bit wayward.
Great athlete, so he might make 5 chances a game and score 1.
Whereas Johnson will get 2 chances a game and score 1.

You can see from the clips that RKM does a LOT in build up; he fights for the ball well.

Seems like the centre backs in the Prem are at a high level, so they are physically very hard to outmuscle, so it will suit RKM to drift a bit wide and try to get between the centre back and full back.

With Solanke out injured and Richarlison on international duty in South America I definitely expect him to start for us against West Ham, especially as he is no longer in the French squad

Front 3 of Simons Muani Kudus
We need Simons in midfield. He can play on the left but we will have e an issue getting good ball to him out there. Play Simons and Odobert on the left and Odobert will likely be fed plenty of early opportunities to take his FB on. He might create some chances or goals.

After the Bournemouth game we cannot play Johnson especially not in a game against the Caravan Club
