Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

I think it is just playing to the metropolitan crowd. I do genuinely think Corbyn wants Johnson's Brexit to happen next month, as a step towards Long-Bailey overseeing an unshackled socialist government from 2022.

Shocking behaviour to follow his own agenda like that against the majority of his party.

If it plays out that way, obviously.

He'll do what he's been doing for the past 3 years. Make a few public statements of opposition, then undermine them by privately making it known to the 30-40 or so Labour Brexiteers that they can support or abstain from Johnson's deal vote.

If he'd been doing that previously, May's deal would've passed wouldn't it? How many Labour MP's supported it on the final vote? Wasn't it about 5?

It's just realpolitik. The guy has been campaigning all his life that the EU is the biggest barrier to introducing socialism. Why would he suddenly change that, just when he's getting his wish?

The general feeling amongst political commentators is that they will all come at once, when they know it will be decisive. There were too many ERG and DUP against May's deal for that to be the case. That also wasn't supposed to be the final vote IIRC - Bercow intervened to halt May's intended real try.

Thomas Cook blaming Brexit for going under is biggest laugh I've had. One of my old clients they are and they have nearly gone under 15 times in 15 years.

I wonder if they had held on till 1 nov, whether the government would have used state aid and saved/nationalised them?

As soon as you leave your echo chamber.

At least I’m not arguing with myself [emoji23]

Maybe there will be good Brexit news, but you can’t tell me what it might look like or how it might come about.

Meanwhile there are real tangible things that are negative due to Brexit. That’s not me or anyone else moaning. For example:

-Our currency is significantly weaker.
-As a result what we buy in the shops costs us all more, as do hols etc.
-House prices are downbeat. A good thing, but a bad economic sign.
- The City of London has been in recession - shrinking.
- Many jewel in the crown UK companies have been bought out like tech company ARM - now owned by the Japs - because of the weak currency and weak government.
- Our parliament has lost control. Our government has not functioned effectively dealing with important day to day policy on schools or the NHS, as they stumble from Brexit crisis to Brexit crisis.

How long can this state of affairs last? When will people smell the coffee and see that this charade of Brisket offers zilch - if I’m wrong tell me what it does offer. Where is the good news? Brexzhit is slowly damaging the UK, with worse downgrades to come should we leave.

Face it people backing Brexit is like supporting
West Ham - a waste of fuking time and an insult to your intelligence.

Read what's on the end of that link. There is also real, tangible good news.

But he ignores all the good things. I've banged on about London becoming a huge tech hub, he ignores that. The fact the UKs future lies in tech and services in or out the EU is ignored and he believes charlatans who shut companies that have been floundering for years who blame Brexit.

Also we haven't even left yet because of people like Jism me up and Steve Bray

It had an impact.

People are not booking/increase in costs

It’s the the reason, but it’s had an impact.
