On linking islam to terrorism it is not racist to say that there is a link between islam and terrorism, because

1) lslam isn't a race and actually recent converts - e.g. white british are proportionally higher risk than established muslim populations from an extremism point of view - partly because established populations say they're muslim and follow broad customs but don't scrutinise the Koran whereas converts are more likely to read all the "sword verses" that call for violence against non muslims and take all that literally)

2) it is a fact. From memory while there is a growing far right terrorism threat and a diminishing but still active northern ireland terrorism threat the vast majority of active counter terrorism operations involve islamic extremism. Therefore while it is an unacceptable generalisation to say all muslims are dangerous extremists it is a simple undisputable fact that the vast majority of dangerous extremists in the UK that have active desires to cause harm to British citizens are muslim.

I think one of the issues with islam as a religion is that the absolute central foundational principle of islam is that Mohammad was given the last word of the lord and recorded this word for word in the book (the holy quran) and this book is the last book that superceeds the proceeding books and represents the direct instructions of the lord.

Whereas the bible by contrast is not seen as the direct word of Jesus or GHod the bible is the recounting of the teachings of Jesus by the disciples.

So theres far less room for interpretation in Islam and therefore where Mohammad in the "ayat as sayf" calls for believers to kill non-believers wherever you find them, unless they convert or pay a tax or seek your protection, this is interpreted by a not insignificant proportion of respected islamic scholars as a call for jihad and a duty on muslims to work towards a world dominated by islamic law and belief. These versions of the teachings do work their way into British mosques and madrassas and islamic schools and unfortunately represent a significant and growing threat to all of us and the stability of this xountry

The audacity from you who hides behind deflecting. I’ve made my position very clear about the clear disdain I have for sharia, Islamists and Islamism. I’ve also made it very clear that I do not hate Muslims. They have the brain capacity to not believe in it also.

You on the other hand have retorted to trying to brush off your stance on sharia stupidity and tried to hide behind you loling and trying every which way to steer well clear of your views on the stupidity that it is.

You want to call everything racist but will not call out sharia which is pretty right wing in itself yet want to brand anyone who may agree with SOME of Tommy Robinsons views as all racists.

Your heritage is Pakistani and you should know how the terrorist haven of Pakistan harbours sharia, wastes IMF money daily and worst of all the bacha baazi (child sex brothels).

The thing for me, for the most, is you can have issue with Islam, you can be worried about the future, you can be concerned about immigration

BUT you can also be all those things and still not align or stand shoulder to shoulder with Farage and TR where it is clear as day what they are.

For me there is clear distinction, which others seems to be lost in with the "well some of our views align"

Well you don’t have to agree or disagree on totality with an individual or a movement.

Why worry about Islam? I don't get that. I'm a massive atheist. I specifically worry about Christian Nationalism and Wahhabism, because they seek to impose oppression on other people and their bodies. But Islam is as mundane as Buddhism or Quakerism. Be specific and say Wahhabism if that's what you mean.

Of course but equally you can call out the bad in them whilst agreeing with some of their points.

I would argue you don't have to stand with them at all and still be true to your own values

Unless im missing your tone, I don't have an issue with Islam, I've just come back from 3 weeks in an Islamic country. I was making a point.

Christianity is as bad as anything, look as the church continues to refuse investigations etc

It's also a book whose origins were built around rape and incest
