Just the same clue meh as most the games this season, just a bit more bite for a few as they know there is a couple of spaces up for grabs on wed.

It was said earlier in the thread but we really haven`t got any players that would get a regular start in any of the current top 6 of the premier league. Our player recruitment has been woeful for ages. We may have a couple of youngsters who will come good but most of our squad are average premier league players at best. Only glimmer of light on the horizon is that Man U are just as bad as us. After playing them off the park the 3 times we have faced them this season, even with Fraser Forster doing his best to help them get back in the game in the league cup I just hope that we don`t eff up next Wednesday.
I was calm watching the game tonight but I am already getting butterflies thinking about the final already. Talking to Man U fans at work they are convinced their name is on the cup especially after the Lyon game at old trafford. If we lose I may not be able to to go to work next thursday. Please for once this season I hope the team don`t let us down.

Very few games we've had our strongest team available and it's a lot better than this team. The players out there tonight need a few more years experience. A normal run of injuries with Ange would still be mid table, better manager will have us further up than that.

Villa beat us and United (Villa should be up for it as they need to win to get CL).
City get 4 points fromBournemouth & Fulham.

Then..

They’d have to beat Southampton away to avoid finishing 6th.

If that happens then the pressure + being Southamptons last PL game. It would certainly be a great game to watch!

Hopefully the first half of this happens so they at least start the match knowing they could finish 6th.

Because you said we haven't got any players that would get regular game time in LIV ARS MNC NEW CHE AST.
Clearly we have. Those teams are not all so amazing that none of our players would play.

Also, you said our recruitment has been "woeful for ages" and I disagree.

There is no point me listing 10 players here.

Even those 4 players its a big maybe they would get regular playing time in the current top 6 sides. The league position does not lie. There are only 4 other teams that have conceded more goals than us this season. And if we pay big money for Tel I will be amazed. Get him on loan for another season ok but pay £40 mil for him? No way.
I cant believe how important the Europa League final has become. Lose and we will have trouble recruiting quality players without the lure of Champions league football. Plus the huge loss of revenue it brings in will also have an effect on what players we can recruit. Hell we don`t even know who the manager/Head Coach will be next season.
