I’ve just had a look and, hands up, it is poorer than I remember. Weird.

If you could add 2x60m players would you go for Savinho and Eze or just one of those and a striker (I think the ship has maybe sailed with the good strikers for this window).

Probably Savinho and Eze, I know we are linked with El Khanous but I honestly haven't watched much of him to really no how good he is.

He saved more than people think. I think I calculated it once and his save percentage including shoot outs was something like 30%, which is about a 10% outperformance.

He has a very very good pen save percentage

I reckon if we had managed to sign Morgan Gibbs White, we would have won that.

That is the difference between signing "potential" in Tel and signing "ready now players" in MGW.

Or Eze. Or even Savinho. Someone to scare them and fight.



It was a good performance, but we were knackered at 60 and poor by 70 onwards.

Personally I'm really irritated, I see it as another trophy and to go be 2-0 up with 5 minutes left is gutting. It would have given us a big boost to start the season.

They weren't scared of any apart from kudos, Richie tried his best. But where was the goals gonna come from up front? As we all have said, we are sadly lacking there... no Johnson again Ole Ole mmm

No footballer deserves abuse whether they are good enough or not. He's trying that's all you can ask. If he's not good enough it's not his fault we bought him and it remains to be seen if he's good enough or not.

Vicario is a poor man's Hugo Lloris. Sure he has good reflexes, but does not have the leadership of Hugo and his kicking of the ball isn't great. Not very good at crosses either. Hugo saved us some penalties, Vicario dives way to early and probably has a tell which players can see, because he didn't guess one time where the ball was going.

He's not had a great start to his career, but he's a kid that took a chance to sign for us to begin with, and fronted up to take the blame for some of our atrocious showings last season when he had no right or reason to.

Yes he's probably missing some confidence at the moment, and sure, he needs to improve.

But the kid has a good head on his shoulders, and will improve with time. I wish we had a bit more perspective when it comes to Tel.

Football fans will comment on what they see, but nobody deserves abuse.

However, I’m pretty comfortable in saying I haven’t seen any tools that I think will make him a success in the premier league, apart from the fact he has a really good attitude.

He had about 15-20 games last season and in his highlight reel when signing permanent there was a real lack of actual quality moments. Maybe I’m forgetting some.

He did have a really good spell at Bayern but I’m not seeing electric pace, nor skill like Kudus, nor any good finishing. His use of the ball has been ok.

I’m unsure what sort of winger he is. Because from what I saw last year he isn’t a striker either.

And let me reiterate - constructive criticism or discussion is fine. Abuse is not.

Frank picked a semi fit solanke and Tel over him to see out the game, he obviously doesn't trust him.

Did anyone think we would win pens? Not a chance it was happening, especially with the way the game ended. So unbelievably predictable.
