Sounds daft, but only being 1-0 is almost a result, we dont really look like scoring from open play, they look like scoring everytime they break. If nothing changes after the break its going to be a long weekend and even longer week in a storeful of bragging Scousers.

Time to earn your corn Mr Pochettino. Something needs changing and fast
 
We were ok for much of it in terms of defensively. We got bodies around the ball. But we’re terrified of their pace so we’re too deep and as a result Kane and Moura are isolated and having to be hit long. Van Dijk is cleaning up.

We need to be more adventurous and aggressive without over exposing ourselves. Not quite sure how we do that with the players they have up top.

Take winks off, and put Moura out wide right Son wide left and Eriksen behind Kane. 2 up top does not work for Kane

They are pressing us well, whilst we seem to be off the pace.

Couple of times in that first half Kane/Christian/Moura did the initial press only for the Liverpool defence to have 2 men free in the middle to pass too.
 
Promising positions again and again undone by a poor ball from someone, and the same goes for the number of times we presented them with opportunities to hurt us. And why are we so consistently poor at set-piece defence?
 
Beating ourselves, most of Liverpool's best moments have all come from suicidal passes from Dier, Toby, Dembele and Eriksen, including the corner that led to their goal. Vorm is a waste of time, he just doesn't make saves and is a liability on set-pieces. Hope Hugo comes back soon.

We've played quite well but not really created much. Liverpool have been kick and chase but fairly soild.

There's just a streak of sloppiness and stupidity that runs through our team and Dier is the main one for it. Sooner he is upgraded, the better, bang average for ages now imo.

We can get back into the game, but I don't have a lot of faith that we won't gift them another chance.

A distant DISTANT ??? Second best. By a country mile. On that first half performance , which Spurs player would you have in a combined X1 against their Pool counterpart?

So many sloppy passes. A more clinical opposition would be 3-0 up. Poch has some work to do,
 
We have no space though, VDV is a great signing for them, he wins every cross in the box, now they have Keita blocking out passing lanes. They are really solid defensively now.
 
Yesterday I suggested we match them by playing 443 with Son, Moura and Kane upfront

Eriksen could then play in a midfield 3
 
We gifted them the lead. That was too many individual errors and brain farts for Pool not to make it count at some point.

Had we kept our concentration, this would've been a comfortable 0-0 at half time, but now we're left chasing. And we don't look like scoring anytime soon.

The Kane imposter needs to be subbed; preferably for the real Kane. He's not involved in this game at all.

Most of all we need to pull our sleeves up, stay focused and put in a proper shift in the second half though. No more silly mistakes, no more sloppy passes, more directness, more precision. Because Pool are far from unbeatable. They're just a very good side.

How many chances have they had? Real good chances that Vorms had to save or that were missed sitters?

They’re better than us but they aren’t handing us our arses.
