** OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v palace - **

My view

- Gil and Sarr added to the team, both need regular game time
- Kudos to Hugo for turning up, probably 2 key moments (4 good saves) that kept the pressure off
- As expected, we were a little shaky in first 45, but once we got 2, looked a lot better
- Really important for Son to get a goal, his best moments were when he actually got to run at Palace (need to get more of that)
- Great to be 4 up and able to rotate a little
- Skipp was rusty
- The gap between Perisic and Sess is still too big

On our overall play
- We can still be quite passive for parts of game
- For some reason our defense looked ok from out wide but there seemed moments where Palace found lots of space strait down the middle

Team needed a reaction, they gave one, well done.

Good result week-end, get the confidence up, get Bentancur and Kulu back with a week prep and test ourselves.

Good take this

Great stuff, a minor miracle from Antonio to mastermind that second half given the personnel missing and the clear limitations in the squad.

Very animated as the goals went in and at full time for a so called ‘broken man’

The trouble was his body language in the first half when he stood there like a statue. Anyone can get animated when the goals are going in. We need a coach to motivate the team when they are not - ala Villa.

Very happy Conte stuck with Gil instead of going to a three man midfield. Mixed bag from him, but some really good involvements from him particularly in the second half.

Great to finally get a win and in the end a convincing win. Looked really under pressure and flustered in the second half of the first half. Think part of that at least was a lack of confidence. Early goal in the second half did us a world of good, hopefully we can build on that.

Definitely credit to Oliver.

There was a tackle early on around the 5th minute by a Spurs player, he let it go and I thought to myself, that would have been penalised by some of the refs we have had recently. It made a refreshing change
Michael Oliver is 10 times better than any of the other refs in the PL. You hardly notice him in games, which is a very good sign.
He let's the game flow, but still manages to keep control, and doesn't allow it to get nasty. Very good referee.

Interesting though that last night's 4-0 win probably hinged on a terrible decision from Ayew to shoot in the first half instead of making a 5 yard pass to Olise in acres of space who would've been 90% likely to make the game 1-0 to Palace. Games really can be altered on small moments, for example I think we would've found a way to win that game against Villa at the weekend had Lloris not spilt that tame shot.
