That's actually by design. It's just that the player receiving the pass needs to have better movement and get away from his marker faster to play a one-time ball to an open player and get the counter going.

This tactic of letting our opponents have the ball is deeply flawed imo.

We were playing well, good tempo, we had a rhythm and could have put the game to bed, no let's go to a low block for absolutely no reason other than to conserve energy even though we're meant to be super fit.

Moving Perisic out of position was a bad idea, I agree with the Royal for Sess swap. But most problems have been în central defence and Romero can come în and boss that.

We've gone too attacking today, and been punished for it, we should stick to what we are good at.

Agreed poor defensively but he’s shuffled it around a lot (including switching the wing backs). Not sure why Romero is rested.
