Simons could be a star for us. I’m excited to see him develop.
Tel is looking more and more like he belongs....We lost something when Tel went off.

Remind me of the chances we had, the saves their keeper made? Are you serious? Second half we were looking the more threatening team for the first 20 mins. But it was miles better than the first
I agree but we still give the ball away far too much. Spence was absolutely rubbish coming on carried on from the last game.. Muani needs to do more of what he did for the goal. He impacted game for 5 mins then disappeared into himself again. I thought Xavi was really good as was Odobert. Tel too. Scarlett made no impact other than a yellow card. Good to have Solanke back though. Think Palhinha needs to start ahead of BentsWe played through the lines at times, getting Simons on the ball makes things happen. It is far from perfect, but when Frank allows us to attack we can. Problem is we only usually do it when we have to....
We have actually played some decent football over the past couple of weeks, it's about knitting it altogether now.
That's why I'm remaining hopeful Frank can get things going second half of the season, I don't buy he's getting anywhere near the maximum out of this group of players. And I say that being in total agreement we need to make improvements to the squad....
Did you think this was good? It was huff and puff, but the quality is lacking imo.
It's astonishing! What does the opposition need to do to Xavi for him to get a free kick? Murder him? He gets fouled every time he gets the ball, but rarely get anything! He is one of the few that has some good movement.
Just needs a ref that will call the fouls on him.
Exactly.
I appreciate the effort second-half, but it was essentially energised chaos-ball. With 10-15% more measure and quality, we’d have got way with showing up for one-half.
If we actually had any notion of pattern going forward beyond ‘heavy pressing for a bit’ I believe we can get more out of these players. Xavi is a real player for example, Muani too…
Agree with all of that. It was far from perfect and not should it be, no one is thinking we have world beaters here. But you can see how much more onside everyone was with that second half - more positive energy, better movement, forward passes. It still didn't all come off but we were playing a top 3 team, if we persist like this we would be fine and the supporters would have the backing of the team more which in turn helps everyone.I agree but we still give the ball away far too much. So much better. That first half was depressing, the second half gave us some belief at least of what we could be. Albeit we need better quality in areas, but there was purpose and positivity....Genuine better second half? I really didn't watch, I am all Spurs'd out
Tel is looking more and more like he belongs....
Fair enough - But given the attitude and work rate he's shown since being here I'll give him a pass on this occasion....In some ways. His tracking back for the second goal - having given the ball away - was a disgrace though.
I thought you would have appreciated the excitment. Wasn't boring. We could have setup more defensively to stop villa scoring. And we threw everything we could at them. Difference was villas strength in depth. They bring on Tielmans, Sancho, Watkins. They have a strong squad.
Remind me of the chances we had, the saves their keeper made?
I think that's a little unfair. We did create chances after the goal. They then managed the game brilliantly ( going down at every opportunity to slow things down) and a poor ref broke our momentum. As did removing Tel for Scarlett and Porro for Spence. It was exactly this. Physical huff and puff but if you look at the actual chances we created.................well...........
I think you're being harsh there Steff, we tried to play football, the chaos came from them.Exactly.

I didn't say at any point we looked like winning, or we had fantastic chances - in fact, I didnt even once say someone should have scored.Remind me of the chances we had, the saves their keeper made?
