One is likely to be playing in the CL next season. The other more likely in the Championship, having already stayed behind to help his home club.

My concern now is, if we are still interested, the crowd for his signature will be more crowded now imo.

Yup, Grealish and Aarons both going to be in much demand this summer but hopefully we’ve got CL football to combine with our stunning new stadium to entice Mourinho’s pick of players to complete next stage in (long overdue) overhaul of squad.

We were wasteful and not amazingly tight at the back. But I wouldn't say we were poor.

We could have been 2-0 down or we could have been about 5-1 up at one point. You can't just use all of their chances as barn door goals and ignore the huge amount of chances we created.

Of course I'd have loved a dominant 3-0 win with no effort exerted, especially before 2 huge matches this week. But that isn't what happened and we got the 3 points anyway.

I feel we played better today and had more of a structure (whether you like that structure is another matter of course) than some of the early games under Mourinho, where I genuinely felt we were just sitting back and hoofing the ball long. There's progress there. And we're picking up points in the meantime.

We were never in control and made a poor Villa look ok. Another poster said it looked like a championship game and could not disagree. If you thought we played better today fair enough. For me today’s performance is not of the quality that’s required for a club with designs on securing European football next season.

As for Jose style of play it’s to counter quickly like Liverpool but they have forwards with brains. Son and Moura look like they don’t want to pass to each other.

Grealish would be an option to replace Lamela. When you look at our shape today we had Lucas dropping deeper to collect and run, whilst Aurier stayed wide. Grealish could easily work in that role or Dele's.

Again though, we have Dele, Bergwijn, Son, Lucas, Gedson and GLC all able to play in that three behind the striker. Even losing Lamela wouldn't necessarily mean us purchasing a replacement.

Engels is the position we need to fill.
Maddison and grealish - who do they displace? Moura, Son, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Gedson, Lamela or Dele ?

Yes. We need at a couple defenders in this summer - another RB and a CB. Thats at least £60m, and then add another CF and we wont have the cash for Maddison/Grealish. They'd cost £50m+ and we have players in those positions anyway

An other 3 points in the bank, that will do me. I'm a dinosaur I like games that go end to end and the win in doubt till late in the game, it's a lot more comfortable to be 2 or 3 up but it's more exciting watching games like this.

That is a laughably poor judgement of a very good player- he was their best player by miles, and much better than most of ours.

Wasn't being remotely serious. Grealish was the best player on the pitch today as he has been most times I've seen him. We fudged up badly by not signing him.

I was repeatedly told on here that neither he or Maddison was good enough for us and would never get near our first team.
