OMT Mighty Spurs vs Hungry Wolves

I agree we have added in the attacking area and of course we can't expect too much too soon. But whatever way you look at it our attack to date has been predictable, and Kudus has been the shining light but 'great' is a bit of a stretch - 3 assists at least one of which was from a corner and 0 goals says it all.

Improving attackers at a club like Brentford is a different matter where a lot more games the opposition will come at you and a lot more space on the counter as a reault. At Spurs you don't have that luxury for the majority of the time which means the players really do have to be a level above technically. And this isn't a criticism of Frank, this is me saying he needs to be given the best possible tools. Simons and Muani might be a good starting point, but we need a quality LW and and striker regardless if we want to become serious contenders for top 4....

its still very early and we do have a very good defence and now we look better in attack than a few matches before e.g. bournemouth.

doesn't help when its only richy up there - very limited options for TF.

it can only get better when solanke and kolo are available. and then kulu too.

any way i though we played well but unlucky not to have scored and to have conceded like that.

Fully agreed. Also Simons hopefully settling in further to the team and playing in the PL.

Frank does also have options though, for me particularly in midfield. For games like this going for Bergvall or Gray alongside Palhinha for example. Some risk/downside, but also more ball progression and creativity in midfield.

8pm on Saturday is brick alright and it’s an easy jibe for me to make. But I’ve never understood why you’d go to a game knowing you’ll likely leave 10 mins from the end even if the game is on a knife edge (which despite our poor performance, it was).

I think your first point may be correct. For some, they go to a game to see their team win and be entertained, not to help them do it. Happens everywhere though. Have a mate who rarely sees the last 20 mins of Ireland games when he goes.

I don't think it's just our fans who leave early and there are multiple reason, I never left early until we went to Wembley but my lack of mobility meant either leave early or wait an hour to leave, many more young kids go and its probably easier to move them when it's not the panic to get out.

I have a lot of sympathy for fans with games moving like they do -- this was Sunday 2pm until a few weeks ago. But I don't understand making the effort to actually go and then act like fans around me did. There was a bunch in my row who turned up after 8 mins, went to the bar at 40 mins, came back at 52 mins and then left at 80. What's the point?? You've spent £60 (and more) to watch about 60 minutes of football!

Then there was the guy who said "fudge off you little Swedish clam" when Bergvall got booked. The person on their phone behind me and the people literally booing when we had a throw-in in the second half (when Porro couldn't find someone to throw it to.)

It all made me feel like many people don't fully appreciate what they've got. That stadium is absolutely ridiculous. I kept looking around in awe. The pre-match with James Black in the square was brilliant. You're watching Premier League football...even Wolves, last at kick off, were knocking it around like peak Brazil, playing beautiful football.

Maybe it's because I came from 10,000km away to be there...but man I just kept thinking how lucky season ticket holders are to be there every other week.

Different mentality now, it's all about winning, we all want us to win and I'm sure the players and manager do, some people can't accept losing and the idea our opponents might play well and also want to win (or in most cases not lose). If I had that mentality I'd never had played any sport as I'm sure I lost as much as I won over 30 years.

I have left early from the football and gigs plenty of times. But it depends on who is with me if it happens.

If I do leave early it's either due to being with someone that needs the extra time to get out or with someone that won't cope well trying to get out with that volume of people.

But it's just me down for the villa game, so will stay to the end.

A really poor performance, we're nowhere near good enough to be competing for top 4 on the last few performances. The only positive is that we keep fighting.
We badly need a decent striker (yes I know we have two out injured, but Solanke doesn't score enough either), a LW and a keeper. Vic has cost us 4 points in the last two league games and needs to be upgraded badly.
Ah, a chance to trot out a favourite insult. "Your hair needs cutting badly. Oh, wait, it has been cut badly."

I'll get m'coat.

This was a significant result.
I cannot remember us playing as disjointedly for 50 minutes yet still getting something from the game at the death.

Frankl is learning, and we need to be patient as the clicks and connections come together. We are without Solanke, Deki, and Madders - a significant core of our attacking/creative play for the last few years. With Muani having fallen to 'the curse' we will likelt be riding the Richy train for some time. Xavi is still patently getting used to the physicality and relentlessness of the league, and we have to be patient. Modric needed a season to find his feet, and I think it is clear Xavi will too. He is going to be an excellent 10 option for sure, but right now it is too easy to swamp and stomp him in there; I think hav ing hiom drift from the left as he gets used to the league is fine. We still created enough moments to either fashion better clear cut chances or just put them away. It was a shame Kudus strayed offside because that sort of goal would've been huge in both timing and style. But it will happen.

Right now, I'd give Tel more time than Odobert off the left; he has a greater ability to hold the ball/play accurate passes. Odobert was unimpressive to me again, and I have to say, in that final minute I actually found myself yelling at him to move the ball instead of stand there and try to trick his opponnant just inside his own half!

Finally, I think there is a conversation to be had about Vic. I am not sure what the answer is, but we must be aware there's a question to be asked IMO...

We have to have a more aggressive shape at home

That’s two games we’ve fought back in already this season.

Last year we’d have ended up getting smashed.
While that's true, the contrast between them сuntѕ' win at St James's Park tonight and our feeble second-half effort AT HOME yesterday couldn't be starker, sadly. We need better players, simple as.

We're 4th.

Just sayin.

...having a fit Deki, Solanke, Maddison or Muani to choose from would help in that regard...

Rather sickening seeing how well Eze is doing plus hearing Les Ferdinand gushing about how he and Chris Ramsey coached him at QPR, if only we’d continued our policy of signing the Championship’s finest instead of punting on the likes of Bergwijn and Gil all those years ago eh.

Absolutely. Still looking forward to seeing what Solanke can do under Frank and for us in this team. To me seems like a very good fit for what we need.
I have seen this said over and over. We had plenty of chances to score/create scoring chances in the first-half...
Agreed. The first half was rather encouraging in that regard. Controlled, a bit conservative, but still creating chances even though our set pieces weren't that effective.

A goal in the first half or another half like the first half and we probably win that game comfortably. Quite a few positives to take from that game.

Shifting gears and particularly shifting to chasing the game and playing with more risk and ambition on the ball isn't there yet. That has to come at some point, but it not being there yet isn't a big surprise.

Is he doing well?
I really kinda expected more from him and them
They brought ready made players for a fortune
