OMT Mighty Spurs vs Hungry Wolves

A really poor performance, we're nowhere near good enough to be competing for top 4 on the last few performances. The only positive is that we keep fighting.
We badly need a decent striker (yes I know we have two out injured, but Solanke doesn't score enough either), a LW and a keeper. Vic has cost us 4 points in the last two league games and needs to be upgraded badly.

Vicario is another player that fans delude themselves into thinking he’s better than he is.

This was an Arsenal level of cringe. Take your shirt off if you’ve scored the winner and you aren’t on a yellow. Fine with that. But if there’s time left, grab the ball and get it restarted. Beyond annoying.

I know. Taking your shirt off because you scored a stoppage time equaliser to level the game against the worst team in the league is very small time.

I think this is it.

Our players in attack are good. They are more than capable of beating Wolves.

We needed to take our chances in the first half today. We didn’t, and Wolves adjusted. To Frank’s credit, he tried to make adjustments quickly in response too.

I will say though, that was a pretty terrible second half performance. Not sure whether the players were having an off day or what but I think the critique on our attacking play being a bit one dimensional is fair. It’s not that we don’t try different things, it’s just that we don’t look as fluid with it in attack.

We’ll ultimately be fine, but we didn’t exactly lay siege to their goal when we needed to.
Our attack is not good enough. We don't have a single good left winger. Richi is Richi. Our one decent winger doesn't score - just like at West Ham last season but people were insistent that's just because he was playing for West Ham. Our forward line still needs massive upgrading - we can only hope Kolo Muani is the beginning of that....

Don’t disagree, but wolves are tinkle poor

Tel. Romero. Van der Ven. Porro. Sarr. Paulinha. Funny enough I can't blame Richie for today. He had a very difficult role today with hardly any support.

Xavi was very poor!!
Porro was tinkle poor, his crossing was terrible. Tel and Sarr were only on a few mins, not long enough to judge. Can't blame Richie?? He did nothing all game. Romero, VdV and Paulinha I'll give you, they did fine.

I didn`t think we really deserved a point. But having said that Frank is trying to rotate the squad with all the games we have coming up.I think he made a couple of tactical gaffes today but we must give him a chance. It looks to me he is still trying to see how certain players perform best in whatever position. It will get better when players return from injury. When Solanke Kulu Maddison Muani Davies and Dragusin are available I think the chances for Tel Oderbert Johnson and Simons starting Prem games will be very limited.
Richarlison is not my favourite player but he was up against a powerful back four mostly without any support today. And the service into the box was mostly poor today. Its the sign of a decent team when you play badly but still pick up a point

Ultimately a fair performance, tbh. Two tactical issues I can see that Frank will hopefully resolve, and one personnel issue that we can't really resolve until January at the earliest, and more probably next summer.

Tactical issues -

1 Benta-Palhinha midfield - it's very solid and is a great tool against monsters like PSG, but it's showing its limitations against the lesser sides. Way too conservative and slow on the ball, leading to no real movement in midfield. Think going forward you play Palhinha and one of Bergvall or Sarr in there, just for that forward momentum they bring.

2. Xavi on the left - he had a bad game in general, but it doesn't help him being stuck on the left. Easy to mark out there, and doesn't have the pace to get past a man. If Bergvall (for instance) is paired with Palhinha in a two, then Xavi can move into the 10 role - think that will suit him far better. Plus it gives us a pretty balanced attacking midfield, since he likes to drift left and Bergvall likes to drift right to support Kudus.

Personnel issue -

Left-wing - we left it unaddressed in the summer, and it is coming back to haunt us a lot atm. Xavi out there is a waste of his talent, and none of the other contenders in that spot (Odobert, Tel, Johnson) have really done anything to prove they deserve a run there. Teams will keep doubling and tripling down on Kudus because they know there's no real threat on the left, and given Kudus is our only creator of note right now, that is an issue.

I think once Solanke's back, we should move him into the middle and push Richy out wide. If nothing else, his physicality will offer a decent foil for Simons to play off of, and we can seek a more permanent solution in Jan/the summer.

Very lucky point if you ask me. What would we be writing now if we lost. It would have been 3 prem games at home 270 mins without a Tottenham player scoring...
Anyway Coyps... Any clues what the p stands for...lol..
