Maybe there's hope for us GG'ers after all. As in most cases, the book is better (IMO), but they did a great job adapting it for the big screen too. Great acting and interesting characters. William H. Macy delivers another great performance, which reminds me I really have to watch Boogie Nights again. And Fargo.

The book is so obscure I was wondering if the film was even the same story. You might like Stoner (or might have already read it) as I think it has a similar feel. It has nothing to do with marijuana by the way.

I have and I did - quite a few years back, though, so might be time for a reread. Great book.

Watched Threads yesterday. 1980's low budget British film about what nuclear war would look like. Low budget, but brilliant. Very disturbing. Highly recommend.

It's even more disturbing when you walk through all the locations where it was shot (Ruth's house, Jimmy's house, the pub, the high street) every day!

It is an incredible film. They should traumatise every school kid in the world with it.
