Morgan Gibbs-White

The whole baggage of being willing to come but then not because of the 'release clause' issue and then signing an extension under duress.
I'm pretty sure he is on more than what we were offering last time and i'm not sure at this point he'd be worth the hassle..and it WILL be hassle to sign him now, especially as Forest would see it that we are no better placed than they are now (unlike last summer when we could at least say we had CL etc).

The effort to sign him (and even us going for him last summer - was that only because of the relatively cheap release clause anyway?), i'd rather use it to get a top midfielder like Wharton or a striker better than who we currently have now
He signed a one year extension. So he's got the same length of contract left (two years) as he did when we tried last year.
But it seems likely that Forest's big sale will be Anderson so they aren't under huge pressure to sell, though I suppose this is the time for them to cash in on him.

Convenient but not worth doing because of all the baggage? Huh?

I think he was in the conversation for best attacking midfielder in the league last season, especially once Forest settled their early season managerial merry-go-round.

I mean we made an attempt to buy him alst summer because it was convenient (we thought we had an easy to match release clause to overcome and then that was it bang, he'd be ours).

Baggage now because of how Marinakis blocked it last year and i would imagine would be even more determined to make sure it didn't happen - unless we bid something like £150M plus...
