Rafael Van Der Vaart
He signed a one year extension. So he's got the same length of contract left (two years) as he did when we tried last year. The whole baggage of being willing to come but then not because of the 'release clause' issue and then signing an extension under duress.
I'm pretty sure he is on more than what we were offering last time and i'm not sure at this point he'd be worth the hassle..and it WILL be hassle to sign him now, especially as Forest would see it that we are no better placed than they are now (unlike last summer when we could at least say we had CL etc).
The effort to sign him (and even us going for him last summer - was that only because of the relatively cheap release clause anyway?), i'd rather use it to get a top midfielder like Wharton or a striker better than who we currently have now
But it seems likely that Forest's big sale will be Anderson so they aren't under huge pressure to sell, though I suppose this is the time for them to cash in on him.
