It's Jorge Mendes. He'll be kissing the badge at Old Trafford before the month is out.

It's Mendes, he will go where the money is. The exact same situation played out last season with Yoro, Yoro wanted Madrid, Madrid wanted him, United paid over the odds, that's where he ended up.

This comes down to cash, West Ham will not accept 5M less from anyone because the player has a favorite, they simply aren't in a position to do so. I think you might even get away with less than expected if you paid more upfront and before June 30th.

Looks like one of the following needs to happen for United to get him.

1. They match West Ham’s asking price.
2. The player makes it clear he will only leave to Man Utd forcing West Ham to accept a lower bid.

If the player is happy to come to Spurs and Man Utd hold firm on their offer, we will get our man. I suspect United will eventually give ground though.

Think it’s more about the upfront payment than anything else tbh. We can also be clever and offer to pay more on the Kudus deal this summer. Seem to remember we did something like that with Bale when Southampton were desperate for cash.

Really not sure

Years of precedent say he goes to United, and West Ham use this just to squeeze a bit more out of them.

But United have money issues and have been actively cutting costs, and West Ham need the money .. time will tell

Im happy with Tonali and/or Fernandes but its weird that there is no talk around Wharton right now. Not just us but to anyone. There was talk that we were looking at him a few weeks ago but nothing since then. Do you think he's lined up for Liverpool or someone already??

Tottenham make headway in battle with Manchester United for key midfielder’s signature

Tottenham Hotspur have held positive talks with West Ham United over the prospective £85m of Mateus Fernandes, as they aim to beat Manchester United to the Portuguese midfielder’s signature.

The progress comes a summer that is expected to see Spurs spend a considerable budget to boost new manager Roberto De Zerbi’s plans.

Having been relegated at the end of the season, West Ham are insistent on a significant proportion of any agreed price up front, while Tottenham have also offered a higher package overall.

Their wage proposal to Fernandes is higher than United’s, and the 21-year-old is very keen on the move.

Spurs have a budget of well over £200m for this window, and want to bring in players suited to De Zerbi’s system. The Italian is personally a huge fan of Fernandes.

That's not how Mendes works. He'll let us have him for one season, before he moves him on to one of his preferred clubs for a reduced fee. And we'll have to take one of his other players as a 'favour' - another Gedson. Its dancing with the devil
