Luka Vuskovic

That’s a different arguement. If we make £50M from him none of its been a waste of time.

It is if the trade doesn't work and he goes on to be a much better player than what we sold him for and what we replaced him with in that "trade up" ends up being a cart horse. Plus there is an argument on the value of time and effort to develop a player to 18, there is more to factor in and consider

That's why we should make sure any deal has a buy back clause, Chelsea seem to do it a fair bit

We still hold all the cards here.

If its one that works then yeah, I would be all for it.

I am just against the selling off the youth crown jewels to fund things when we are being told we have money and ambition, we should be protecting both avenues IMO.

Anyway, its been done to death, I suspect he goes now TBH

Only time will tell if its correct or not

Tbf it's been proven he takes kick backs from agents to push stories.
Oh I don't doubt he has his agendas. But from all the time I've seen 'ITKs' I would say him and Ornstein are two worth listening to. Obviously not to take anything as gospel but I would at least lean on there being some truth to it (especially Ornstein)....

I think the agent is the issue here, he's telling him he should be starting in the PL, I expect this is to get a pay day.

I've no issue with RDZ saying he can't be bothered with him if that's what he's up against.

Just remember, hindsight is a wonderful thing. The likes of Salah, De Bruyne etc may not have become the players they were if it wasn’t for the teams that took a punt on them when they were sold from Chelsea.

We could keep Vuskovic and he could be mediocre, he could go to Brighton and become a superstar but that will be down the the environment and the way he was used.

Absolutely, and someone on here will be wrong, thats the game.

I think discussing the potential plus and pitfalls is ok though.........given whats been promised almost form the "new owners" that almost should be demanded

What do you expect when Lange is still in charge, we need a competent sporting director who can help build the squad alongside the manager.

We keep the youth crown jewels Vuskovic bergvall gray moore etc and sign the players the manager wants for now ie for instant improvement. Sell players that aren't buying in or aren't good enough.

If the clubs being run differently ie with greater financial flexibility and muscle then that's how we operate. No compromise.

The point of signing the very best youth is it saves us millions PLUS they remain even when the current manager blows up and we are not just left with the buys he wanted (general comment not referring to RDZ btw)

I'd imagine a sale of Vuskovic would be driven by the manager wanting money to be spent on here/now players

Tough one but if he doesn't fancy and we can get a good fee then he's earnt the right to shape the squad as he sees fit this summer. I'd prefer a loan and definitely need a buy back clause.

Mind you the last player with such hype I remember was De Light and he's done OK but not kicked on like people thought.

And thats the issues in some respects for me. You think we could be masterful and arrange a loan to Brighton for 2 years? Maybe not, but I suspect its more about income to spend and flip, than it is anything else

Which doesnt seems ambitious whilst protecting the future

It's more than likely...Romero Vicario and Dragusin are going for a start. That's £100m.

So if we have any level of 'aMbiTioN', and at bare minimum want to match previous spending...we don't need to cash in on Vuskovic. We should have at least £200m+ to spend inc those sales.

My guess would be that if we sell rather than loan it's because we want/need the cash to rebuild the squad now. If we didn't then I'm sure a loan would be the path we would be taking. Can't blame RDZ, he won't be around to benefit from the player if he doesn't succeed in the short term so that needs to be his focus re the transfer market.

Him becoming a generational talent won't make or break us as a team and we've seen plenty of hyped youngsters not make the grade so i can see why the manager would make the choice of selling now, if that's the case.
