Liverpool thread

I can't honestly remember any Spurs player breaking someone's leg or causing a serious injury since I started following us back in '58.
I'm possibly mistaken and I'm sure someone will recall a case.

I think you could make a case either way for the VDV/ISak challenge. I did think at the time, "ouch hope VDV doesn't get sent off." Whenever you engage in a scissor type challenge around your opponent's leg there is a risk of injuring that player. There is no intent on VDV's part but I don't suppose that is a consideration if the charge against VDV is that he was reckless in making that challenge.

What is extraordinary though, is the coverage it gets. I can't think of other decisions which take up so much media time. I remember the Joelinton tackle on Kudus in the CC. Nothing said. This will run on for days...

Think it's the fact it resulted in a broken leg that's generated the discussion to be fair.

I also don't class it as a scissor tackle. He's ended up in the similar position as a scissor tackle but it's just a sliding tackle. He has nowhere else to put his other leg unless he goes two footed.
