Inter Ratings

Ratings v Inter

Worst performance from Spurs since away to Stevenage imo

Friedel - 5. Could've done better for a couple of goals. Shows what Lloris brings u.

Walker - 2. Dreadful. Ball watching constantly and gave the ball away far too often.
Gallas - 3. Had trouble with the long ball the whole game.
Vertonghen - 4. Slightly better than Gallas, but still struggled.
Naughton - 4. Not a LB.

Dembele - 6. Wasted totally on the right. Wish he had a bit more end product from his runs.
Parker - 4. Woeful first half, slightly better second.
Livermore - 3. Not good enough. Plain and simple.
Sig' - 4. Anonymous, and when had the ball wasteful.

Defoe - 2. Ludicrously bad.
Adebayor - 4. Giving him an extra 1 for the goal. But is seriously lacking.

Subs:
Lennon - 5. Some strange decision making. Should have taken on the RB a lot more.
Holtby - 3. Very poor game. Offered nothing and gave the ball away far too much.
Caulker - 5. Sloppy.

AVB - 3. Very poor team selection and tactics. You can't replace Bale with Defoe or Adebayor.

Freidel - 5

Walker - 5
Naughton - 4
Gallas - 3
Jan - 6

Parker - 6
Dembele - 7
Siggy - 7
Livermore - 4

Defoe - 3
Ade - 3

Holtby - 6
Lennon - 5
Caulker - n/a

AVB - 0 - tactics were ridiculous

Holtby instead of Livermore and we'd have looked so much better from the start. I get why Lennon started on the bench.

Sig and Dembele at least showed some fight. Parker mostly doing pirouettes and running into opposition players.

Friedel average, but Hugo MUST start next time.

I thought ade's best game for us tbh, actually looked like he wanted to do something, taking on defenders and looked hungry when he just dinked off after stealing it off defender. I think friedel kept us in it with lots of saves, granted alot routine, but that doesnt always mean alot. The rest was woeful, although Demebele looked alot better when in the middle. Parker + livermore = failure. Hurry up back Sandro!!

Woeful performance and terrible team selection by AVB

442 away at the San Siro when you have a 3-0 lead?! Seriously?!

That is crazy, really strange to give up the midfield at the expense of playing 2 awful strikers.

That is the sort of thing I would expect from Gerry Francis, not AVB.

I was incensed at kick off and only got angrier, really terrible all round.

As if a midfield of Parker and Livermore should ever go up against top quality opposition.

I think we may be taking Cheat$ki's crown of "worst European run ever" so let's hope it ends as well for us as it did for them.

I was very annoyed after we won 3-0 in the first leg, we were coasting and didn't take the last half hour seriously at all, and it cost us massively tonight.

Friedel 6 - I think playing the high line with Brad in goal is just beyond stupid so I'm not going to mark him down on that because it's not his fault. He made some good saves, don't think he could've done anything about the goals - I don't want to go back and watch

Walker 5 - Stop. Giving. Away. Needless. Fouls. In. Dangerous. Areas. !
Gallas 4 - I'm a Gallas fan but he was terrible
Vertonghen 5 - Not terrible but part of a collective mess
Naughton 5 - Same as Vertonghen

Dembele 6 - Gave the ball away for the 2nd, redeemed himself later on
Livermore 5.5 - Kept it ok, nothing great or terrible
Parker 5.5 - Gave it away so much
Sigurdsson 7 - Ran all night, kept it well I thought

Defoe 5 - Offered nothing
Ade 5.5 - A great run and managed to score, otherwise terrible

Holtby 5 - Gave it away a lot
Lennon 6 - Made a bit of a difference
Caulker 5 - Got beat in the air a couple of times which shouldn't happen

Freidel - 5- kept us in the game, but too reactive rather than proactive

Walker - 5 lacking composure
Naughton - 4 not a LB as he is right footed
Gallas - 5 under pressure all game physically
Jan - 6 not helped by the rest of the defence

Parker - 3 - Constantly passing to inter players, running into dead ends and not putting pressure on the man on the ball
Dembele - 7 - Battled well, was everywhere and soldiered on
Siggy - 7 - The only player who looked to do anything attacking to threate
Livermore - 4 - game passed him buy

Defoe - 3 anonymous
Ade - 4 anonymous until he scored

Holtby - 5.5 average but kept the ball well
Lennon - 6 kept the ball well in the second half
Caulker - n/a

One thing I want to mention is the fitness levels of the players...

Siggy did not stop running - same with Dembele.

Holtby looked knackered as did Ade. The latter two have not played many games for us - do we have a training regime that is boosting performance??

Challenge now is to patch up a team for Sunday given those who played 120 mins must be knackered

Dawson, Benny, Lloris and Bale must obviously play as fresh

Lennon, Defoe, Caulker and Holtby only played part of the game so should play

Means that one of Walker or Naughton need to play at RB and you have:

-------------Lloris--------------

-Walker-Dawson-Caulker-Benny

-Lennon-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-Holtby

-----------Bale----Defoe

But the big issue is CM where Parker and Dembele are so far ahead of Livermore in terms of ability and experience and also as a pairing that you want to play them....however teh risk is that they're completely shagged. Carroll doesnt seemed to have AVB's confidence so unliekly to start....

Freidel - 6 - Few great saves. Have nothing to do with the goals.

Walker - 4.5 Same old walker.
Naughton - 4.5 Sometimes going to forward and out of position
Gallas - 5 some doggy moments , plus a own goal .
Jan - 6 ok

Parker - 3.5 - Ballerino
Dembele - 6 - Engine. But lost his man in the first goal.
Siggy - 6 - A great shot in the first half . Worked off his socks as usual.
Livermore - 4 - His rating would have been lower in no doubt should he stayed on the pitch longer.

Defoe - 3 X-Box and a disc of Fifa for him , he can score as many as he want
Ade - 4

Holtby - 5
Lennon - 6
Caulker - n/a
