Feeling very 'flat' for the new season

I don't understand how you can keep on claiming that we are playing 4-5-1 - that we have changed our formation from last year - when Sigurdsson and Dempsey have both clearly been playing behind the front-man in a 4-2-3-1 / 4-4-1-1.

We don't play with two banks of 4 under AVB. We DID under Redknapp regardless of what was going on in front of the two banks. VDV played under HR as a forward (Redknapp even said it himself!) and dropped deep like Sheringham/Cantona did. Sigurdsson, Dembele, Dempsey are NOT playing up front. They ARE playing in a central THREE man midfield. We are definitely NOT playing wtih two banks of four and therefore are definitely NOT playing any sort of 4-4-x variation. Against Reading we actually played a more traditional 4-3-3 but hardly anyone picked up on it at all.
