Erik Manuel Lamela is an Argentine footballer who plays as a forward for Tottenham Hotspur. He is known for his exceptional dribbling ability and pace and is nicknamed Coco.

So we've broken our transfer record again. Its £25.8m (€30m) upfront with £4.3m (€5m) in addons. Soldado was a straight €30m.

Oh yeah and Lamela has said this:

Erik Lamela spoke to Ansa in Fiumicino airport: "I'm ready for Tottenham, I want do great things for Spurs. And thank you, Roma"

Good thing they speak Spanish in Argentina, means him and Soldado can communicate on the pitch. Anyone know if he speaks muchos English?

Edit: The Wiki page for Argentina states; "After Spanish, the most spoken language is English, which is taught since the elementary school, 42.3% of Argentines claim to speak some English (though only 15.4% of those claimed to have a high level of English comprehension). Portuguese is also highly popular (the Brazilian dialect is taught)."

So, we can hope he speaks decent enough English (probably no worse than some English footballers) AND may be able to communicate with Sandro and Paulinho on the pitch, as well as AVB off it.

Genuinely don't think he fits in our squad if we sign Eriksen as well. He's not one of the top 2 wingers on either side now that we've got Lamela (hopefully \o/ ).

Sandro (Capoue)
Rose (Fryers) - Verts (Chiriches) - Kaboul (Dawson) - Walker (Naughton)

Insanely good squad if thats what we end up with. Only place I would argue for change would be a younger replacement for Defoe.

But where does Sigg fit in that? Not ahead of Townsend or Chadli. Not in the midfield 3. Even if we go 4-2-3-1 he's still not getting in.

Levy and all the higher-ups have done an excellent job of coping with the loss of Bale. We've moved from a team reliant on the left foot of one player, to a side that can compete across all competitions and potentially push for the title.
