Well I have already explained that, I think it absolutely is because I don't think any two set of circumstances are the same here or abroad once you leave a set up you thrived in

We are signing two players from City whose best performances have taken place abroad, in Savinho case his only good sustained form came abroad (I take Marmoush has been very good here but I don't think its a greater body of work than abroad), so I think my general point stands and people are celebrating (rightly) players who's proven form looks better abroad than being PL proven and we are paying 150m for them

Yeh, We could go through the entire history of the "serious clubs" and suspect the success v failure marks on transfers are fairly balanced.

OK so you answered one question, you don’t feel the gamble is any different. I disagree with you but you’re entitled to your view.

Let's end by saying our best ever foreign signing in recent times looked like he was struggling with the demands of the PL for the whole of his first season, and asked Poch that following summer to leave. The rest is history.

But for the record and to quench your thirst for a reply, he likely doesnt share my view based on this window, but i suspect not every signing that improves us will come from the PL like I dont suspect every signing this summer will be a success, so we would likely both be wrong....and right

Joe Lewis could have pulled the plug at any time like the kids did. But Levy ran it the way Joe wanted and they align because Levy was Joe's protege and they largely think the same way about business. As I understand Levy did at times express the need to invest more on the pitch and Joe did not support that.

doesn't make sense to sack levy then...even if levy didn't have the cash he could have accepted a dilution of his shares
